The oil burner is bad news. Using a quart for a tank of gas. Compression good on all 6. Need the heads rebuild ( 4000.00) or new from Toyota (1600.00) a piece. My first Toyota and it will be my last one.

Can you identify what cylinder is giving you trouble?

If it is just a valve stem seal and you can identify the cylinder it should be a not so hard fix.

Did you happen to also do a leak down test? That can be more helpful than just compression.

Compression is good on all 6 ( 202 to210). He thinks the valve guides are leaking to. I know the seals need to be replace. If I add oil when cold and start the engine, I get a puff of blue smoke but never after.

Not sure yet. Have to same some money. Being retired, funds are limited. Not sure if I'll go back to work driving a truck for the summer. Still looking into that swap.
