ok so it all started out with the "itch" to change my boost set up.. nothing more than just wanting something more upgradable... so i posted a feeler to see about what i could expect to get for my supercharger... then it all fell into place a member here triumphx had a turbo kit he was looking to get rid of, so we talked it out...

to make things happen i sold my motorcycle to a member here to get the cash flow. it was a great bike with a few upgrades, but i just never rode it.. hated to sell it, but he will have more fun with it than me.

with that said i removed my supercharger and made a drive to Austin to meet up. its all up hill from here..

the kit is a mid mount set up which seems promising enough

here are the pics i have taken so far..

shorty headers, custom Y pipe, modified cross member, 3" exhaust, water intercooled...

I was just about to comment on the location of the tail pipe, and possible re-location. Not needed now though. Lol.

Really curious to see how it sounds. How much longer till you think you will have it running Stoner?

yes werty you are right....

it is a little low... BUT i dont drive it every day...

i plan to make a protector bar using the X brace bolt holes...

i am not planning on keeping the turbo down there this is just a starting point..

the plan is this weekend...

all of the "hard stuff" is done...

i might have to get a new coolant tank for the IC cause of my factory alarm, i just kinda stuck it there and it didnt fit right... i didnt mess with it... i have to mount the i/c pump the oil pump and run the hoses, get stock parts back on.. and i think i might make a vacuum tank for the stuff that doesnt need to see boost...

i want to get it running then i will worry about the low sitting turbo.. lol... i have plenty of intake pipe to get the filter up where the old Y pipe use to be so ill get it over there.. then i would like to see if the turbo can go up more also.. but that will throw off everything else... its all work... lol

ok so turbo question... with it installed the turbo is maybe a .25-.5 lower than the X brace.... the oil inlet pipe is sticking straight down....

i noticed that the center part of the turbo is held together with about 6 or so bolts one set on the hot side and one on the cold side...

can i remove those bolts and turn the center part to adjust the oil feeds? if i can do that then the turbo will be a little safer....

i know in the pic it looks super low BUT the truck is on jack stands so the angle makes it look lower than it is...

ill post sime more pics soon.. yesterday i got to use my welder again to make a bracket for the oil pump.. i am going to make another one for the water pump today...

The oil inlet is on the bottom??? It should be on the top.

Small hole on top. Large hole on bottom.

that is the inlet on the bottom... i was wanting to bring it up a little... looking at the pic i want to bring the inlet to the right (up).. and doing that will bring the small hole to the left (down) and make it more inline with the location to the oil pump and the inlet up and protected...

so making the oil feeds horazontal is a no no?...

also i read somewhere that i need to connect the little brass fitting on the front of the cold side to the wastegate?

You want the drain facing downward.

You do not want the oil to puddle in the bearing case and cook when shut down. Also if it does not drain out correctly and puddles it will work past the seals and make a real mess of things.

Man I was thinking crazy... the small port is on the top and that large one should be the drain.. I'm at work right now ... but pretty much what I said about twisting it needs to be swapped..

But with what u said G
Could it be twisted 1 screw over which still leaves the drain in the downwards position and moves it up a Tad..? If the down is the safest and just the way it should be I will leave it like that..
