I have actually seen an older Chevy 50's model pickup do a wheel stand from a light on the street...
Was about 15-16 years old and he got the light before us across the intersection and I just hear this Roar come from it and he pulls a wheelie 3/4 the way across the intersection and lets off.
Couple months later I saw it at the Monthly Whataburger Hot Rod Meet and it had some massive Slicks in the rear that were tubbed.

Yeah, the guy is still around.
Its an older guy, looks to be in his late 50's early 60's.
Also to mention, it wasn't just barely pulling the wheels off. It was at least 1 & 3/4 ft of air.
