The Story behind the Ride:

My search started as soon I found out these awesome trucks had been realeased. I called a Toyota dealership near the factory in California, and the not so nice lady told me they had only one SWB in stock. She wanted $30k plus another $3-4k to ship it accross the country. I went balistic on her, saying "you might get that in CA, but not in NC." She was nice enough to locate one closer to me. I called Roger Smith & Sons Toyota, Kansas dealership that she gave me, they had no clue what I was talking about. Short of it all, I gave them the stock number, and did a $1k deposit. Told the salesman to call me when it got there, and I would wire the rest of the money. That was on Wed November 18th 2004, the next day he called and stutteringly stated my truck was there. They had to hide it in the body shop, people were wanting to buy it the second it came off the transporter. Wired the money on Friday, flew to Kansas on Saturday morning, drove it home that day. 999 miles to my driveway, break-in period over in one day...paid sticker, less $500 internet discount.
