Hey peeps, gonna do the RegCab XR mod :rockon::rockon:

Just ordered the body kit (unpainted) with the fasteners and moldings (18 pieces) from www.visracing.com (nice body kit site so check it out). The whole body kit with fasteners shipped to Oahu, HI (96825) costed me ~1700. The fiberglass pieces are unpainted.

Here is a picture of the truck now:

from the back:

planning on painting the body kit spoilers black to match with the whole silver-black trim thing.

Any suggestions or disagreements with the color of body kit spoilers? Post em up!

Well I can't wait to see it. Your truck as it is right now looks hot. Once you get the kit its going to be even hotter.

Going to look great man! I would paint the bumper along with the kit to match the rest of the truck, or paint it all a different color.

Nice that is going to look great, you are going to have to redue your exhaust or just to drop outs on the tips

I am going to cut the holes in the pickup box body kit spoilers so the tips can go through

ya, I've been going back and forth if I should paint the whole taco one color or keep it silver and black...I like do um silver with black trim because it looks more customed...:dontknow:

can you not get the 4.0 in a reg cab taco?

regular cab tacomas come only in 4cylinder engines...but it would be sweet to have a 6cyl in a regcab...I would've though the 4x4 regcab would come with a v6 but it comes with a v4

^a 2 Tone Would Look Good As Well, But Follow The Body Lines. Dont Just Paint The Kit Because I Dont Think That Would Look Right.

thanks for the input...I even had this dream that I would inverse the colors for the body kit so the front spoilers would be silver since the bumper is black and the rocker spoilers would be black since the body is silver...stupid idea/dream?:dontknow:

They haven't made that since 97 and was only for one year.

Should be a fun project nyles, but I'd say paint it all to match. As for the exhaust get smaller tips and have em exit on both sides of the kit.

Awesome project bro,,,,, I would definatelly do the kit colormatched and maybe black on the topside of the truck :top::top:
The 1gr motor would be sick in that thing,,,, The only thing would be getting a shorter driveshaft and might as well change the rear diff and to the gear mod.... With all that you might be able to keep up with FI guys beein so much lighter :biggrin:
Get the x-brace to (should bolt in).... Keep us posted man ,, sounds like it's gonna be sick truck :top:

It'll be even sicker is what I meant,,,, already sick truck

Make it all one color. It'll look cleaner... kinda looks like a skunk as it is :stupid: no offense or anything lol. As for the tips I would ditch those too. Either reroute them to exit before the rear axle or go smaller with duals or something.

As for a motor swap... why would you want to swap a 1gr in there? Theres waaaaaaaay more options...
