technically the warranty only covers 3 years 36K miles but because this TSB has taken so long to reach the bulletins I wouldn't see a problem for toyota to cover the TSB issues. Anymore people that were issued this TSB and it would become a recall. I say yeah toyota should be able to cover it because longer down the road it becomes a safety issues. but I have heard of cases were toyota dealership refused TSB service. I believe their logic is up to the discretion of the dealerships. but check into it bro...hopefully they are willing to take your truck in and get it replaced... good luck bro and let us know what the out come is...:top:

I hope this can help clear things up lefty...

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for
36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
• Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer’s specific
complaint.

hmmm, this could be why I slam so hard when I hit a bump and go through bump stops like crazy.......

Also wonder if they will do this on our trucks if it is lowered

this doesnt specifically state the X-runner. If they are replacing the springs and shocks with softer ones then I will pass. Someone needs to get this done and let us know what happens

what it does specify that this is an update for the existing TSB. now it include all years from 2005-2008 access cabs and double cabs(so the XR would be included). it also states this in the TSB report:

Warranty Information has been separated into two sections: Non-TRD Option Package Truck and
TRD Option Package Truck.

So I believe the XRs are/should be covered by this TSB. XRs are Access Cabs and are considered a Non-TRD Option Package... So this TSB does/will help out with all XR's...:top:

I hope this is able to help clear things up for you guys...

Sorry, but this TSB is not for X-Runners. This TSB is to supersede TSB# SU006-07.
TSB SU006-07 is for 4x4 & PreRunner Tacomas (except standard cab).

ahh that sucks... funny thing is I just called my Service Rep at Findlay Toyota (Chuck Griffin) to talk to him about this TSB. He's a really cool guy and if I don't know anything about a recent TSB he will notify me either through a phone call or email. I called him to ask him about this TSB more so for the XRs (You guys). He said that it is the discretion of the dealership but they(Findlay Toyota) is willing to take a look at any XRs that come in with this TSB. Although he said this TSB is not for X-runners, they do share a similiar setup with the pre-runners and 4x4s. good luck guys

Ninja17: I can give you Chuck(service reps for Findlay Toyota) # and you can setup an appointment with him to take a loot at your XR for this TSB...just let me know I will see you this friday at the Meet

Too bad i past my warranty. I took it in a while back for that problem and they told me it was normal. I guess now they change their mind because a lot of people complained.:frown:

i just called my dealer to schedule a service and told him that i was having trouble with my rear "bottoming out" with a small amount of weight in the bed and thought i qualified for the tsb. he said he'd never heard of a tsb, but looked it up after i gave him the tsb number. after a lot of waiting, he came back and said that no one else has complained about it who has bought from that dealership and that it only occurs when you have the MAXIMUM weight capacity in the bed. and that it only occurs in manual transmissions (i have an automatic). he also asked what size tires i have on it. i told him 265-75-16. he said that it only occurs on 245 tire sizes. he said that the truck will not "bottom out", it is only a harsher ride. anyone else heard any of this?

I looked over the TSB and I'm not 100% sure but i don't think he was looking at the right TSB or either he was just bsing you. I really have a hard time understanding why dealers wanna be d i c k s about these kinda repairs. They get paid good money for them and you would think in the current economy situation they would be jumping all over them. I would try a different dealer, which one told you this?

It was probably me then, been driving it a lot here recently while doing some house hunting. If you get a chance, give boone toyo a call and see if they'll take care of you.
