climate control LED change-in progress

so i scored the climate control housing on ebay for next to nothing. i'm gonna tear this thing apart and work on changing all the lights so they will be blue. i dont remember seeing a thread about anyone having any luck with this? anyway i'll keep you all in the loop and take pics along the way, hopefully it'll work...

you mean the overhead compass and temp thing? i've taken it apart once, it doesn't have an LED in it.

no, hes talking about the HVAC panel. It uses normal bulbs and the film behind the knobs use a film that has the writing in it as well.

Good luck, there was a guy with a 4x4 i believe that did change his color. You'll have to find a way to remove the orange film on the back of the controls and replace it with an alternate color to make the light distribution look even. I belive you can order these LED's to replace the stock bulbs once you have removed the orange film. http://www.oznium.com/corvette-c5-led

thanks bro, looks i better order these before i start tearing it apart. i'm wondering what type bulbs/leds are going to be behind the 3 dials :hmmmm2:

There's two screw in halogen bulbs that light up a clear plastic piece that distributes the light two all the dials.

so i should only need 4 of the wedge bulbs, the ones from the link that you posted?

yeah, but you are doing it right so far. MY F-it arss would have tried to just do the one that is in my truck.....with the high possibility to f-it up! :laugh:

yeah, i got lucky i guess getting the one from ebay. that will let me take all the time i need and not rush just to get it done.
