hotrodt's ls1 swap...its coming close to the end!!!

ALRIGHT FOR ALL OF YOU THAT DONT KNOW, I WAS TRYING TO SELL MY ENG AND TRANS ON HERE FOR THE LONGEST TIME....I HAVE PUT IT EVERYWHERE FOR SALE. FINALLY A GUY FROM SO-CAL BOUGHT THE ENTIRE PACKAGE FROM ME OFF EBAY. SO NOW THE TRANSFORMATION IS TAKING PLACE. PUTTING IN A LS1 V8 OUT OF A 2000 Z28 CAMARO. USING A AUTO 4L60E TRANS. IM TIRED OF SHIFTING GEARS. I WILL POST PICS AND KEEP YALL UPDATED ON MY BUILD. REXRUNNER IS DOIN THE SAME SWAP BUT USING A T56 TRANS. HE HASNT BEEN ON HERE IN A WHILE, BUT I HAVE TALKED TO HIM ON THE PHONE AND HE IS BACK TO WORKING ON HIS TRUCK. SHOULD BE UP AND GOIN SOON. GL man:top: ive really been thinking about a LS6 out of a 02 Z06 with a T56. I already have the engine and its ported and polished just didnt know what all it would take and how much id need to upgrade, like the rear end to handle it...

i dont think the rear will be a prob. They seem pretty tuff. If you had traction it may be an issue but we spin so easy i dont think it will make a diff. I plan on 4 linking mine and a ford 9" later in the future though.

So far im parts im around 3k it will go in easy. I bought some seet ls1 swap mounts from ebay for $150 and they just weld to the frame rails.

Yea we cant hook up with a 270 something hp i cant imagine when im putting 500hp down on the ground but yea i need to look in to it more and find some mounts. I cant wait to see some pics buddy.:rockon:

you can use stock f-body frame and engine mounts. I have a set that are in good shape. I just wanted a necer looking mount.

Subscribed! I'm looking forward to see progress pics of the build and then the final outcome. While ur not the first to do this, Rexrunner has been doing his for what seems like forever now with no end date in the future. okay so i ordered pacestetter headers for a 04 gto, hope they work. radiator, dual electric fans, trans cooler, stainless braided line, -an fittings, urd 255 fuel pump, c5 corvette fuel pressure regulator. 3" x pipe, lokar floor mount shifter. so far i have taken engine, trans, harness, radiator, exhaust and cut out stock frame mounts. i still have a lot of grinding to do. still need to order harness for the ls1, get custom drive shaft made and a tune. so far that is the progress. i have some pics on my camera but i have to figure out how to post them in here.
