So I have fixed these same dents 3 times by using the "dent doc". I continue to get dents-indentations right above and under my gas tank door. They are kinda hard to see unless the sun is on them, then they pop right out you!!!
Anybody else having these problems? Should I contact corporate and see what they say??

I think I've heard of others getting the same dents. Don't know what the verdict is on the cause.

The dent/crease is a weak point in the fender, it will happen on just about any Tacoma, a few of us proved this at X-Fest!

I would try contacting corporate but I know there was a huge thread on TW about it!

I've had some around the tank door too, kinda more like ripples. You can really see them out the side mirror when the sun hits it just right.

It's gotta be from bottoming out the rear suspension unless the 4X4 guys are having the same problem but without the bottoming out part. Imma try to get them to fix mine when it's in the body shop for the other repairs

Easy explanation for this. Gas tank is mounted to the frame. Filler neck is attach to the bedside gas door bucket. The bedside is a thin sheet of metal while truck frame is quite a bit thicker. With different torsional rigidity, they flex at a different rate when you hit a bump. Being that bedside is weaker than the frame, stress flexes the gas door bucket instead.....thus creating that dent / wrinkle. You can take it to the bodyshop to be fix, but flexing will continue as you drive and it eventually reappear again.

Toyota should've gave us a fully boxed frame like the Hi-Lux :/

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to jump on here and say SCREW THAT DENT! Lol I hit some train tracks the other day and bottomed out hard enough to pop my fuel door open, and when I got to the house I saw that there is a definite crease there from the top of the fuel door to the top of the bed
