Hello my XRU Family,

It been a very long time since I have been on this site, BUT I AM STILL ALIVE, LOL

So, I have been talking to a source that works upstairs, and I heard a rumor.................

I was told that the new year will have the black chrome headlights back on special models (XRUNNERS).

AND THIS MIGHT BE THE LAST NEW FOR XRUNNERS,

Again, I heard this as a rumor but as soon as I know the truth, I will let ya'll know.

Toyota need to give the Tacoma something worthwhile instead of BS bare-minimum update. Bring on dual vvti, projector and/or xenon headlight, roll down back window, and auto up&down on all windows. They can keep black cbrome headlight as most will get bhlm treatment anyways lol

I agree with this. With the way the competition is stepping their game up I think Toyota should be putting more effort in than different colored headlights. Sunroofs should have definitely been an option since 05 on all models of the tacomas

I somewhat agree, with the money we pay it should, but then again what fun about having a truck/car thats completely done!? thats why its so fun when u have custom retrofits or other mods etc!

annnd if they do release a new Xrunner or Y-runner or whatever (haha) its goina be based off the 4runner most likely as tacoma always has been! so i am predicting a more square look like the concept 2014 4runner ish look

If you dont like the orange do the dash light switch,it shows you how to do it in the how to threads.
Its not that hard if you have basic soldering skills, i did mine on my 05

I somewhat agree, with the money we pay it should, but then again what fun about having a truck/car thats completely done!? thats why its so fun when u have custom retrofits or other mods etc!

We all love to tinker, modified, and tune-up. Even buy $100k vehicle, you'll still find some way to do that also. What I meant was we could always spend time & money on taking it to the next level instead of correcting sub-par equipment.


I remember Toyota use to do a constant refinement & improvement from year to year. That's why to were highly praised and desirable. They'll even correct some of the known problem instead of sweeping it under the rug like TOB chirp, and not cut corner and make part that they actually got right worsen like clutch plate after late '07 and lousy (read: less fun) electronic "lsd". Not to mention a real bullet-proof relaibility. You can almost hear the boardroom goes "lets make 8+ years instead of usual 4-6 to launch an all-new model so we more budget for bonuses. Too keep consumer happy, we'll just delete and add some color and call it a day." Hell, a Corolla & Yais get new wheel design more often then we do -__-

I think they should have leather seats interior color options led dome and map lights. Some lfa style guages would be amazing. The new 4.0 thats in the fj. And delete the drums in the rear.

We had a 2013 xr with trd ss and trd bbk retailed at 31 k. No one will pay that much for a slightly moddeded truck when the tundra is a couple thousand away
