I have a source for good low mileage used engines and pretty good prices. Many of them come with a warranty also.

I have fixed up a few members with used engines and if you find yourself needing one let me know.

This one is going to Canada:

Hey Butters, if you had just run through some water that can cause some minor slippage of the belt on the A/C compressor if your belt is getting worn.

My truck has about the same mileage and it has done the same thing after hittin a puddle.

Once it dried out it was absolutely FINE!!
You may just need a new belt - way cheaper!!

HEY GADGET - you have any A/C issues with my truck when you drove it??

There are several things that can make the light flash in the button.

There is an RPM sensor in the compressor and it does a ratio comparison with the engine and if it looks like there is slippage it will flash the light and turn off the clutch.

There was a TSB for a faulty relay that was not powering the magnet properly causing slip.

On my truck, I had the clutch fail. The hub is rubber and the magnet powers up the friction ring is pulled in and the rubber hub deflects and allows it to engage. The rubber part ripped apart and screwed the whole thing up.

I had to replace the compressor, magnet and clutch. That stuff is not cheap.

David, no unusual problems with your A/C. I know when you disconnect the battery for a while the A/C takes a while to start working properly again. Once out in Cali I had the battery disconnected for a while and then hooked it up and I made it clear out to Corona from Lagnua Hills before I had A/C. My 2010 4Runner is horrible when you disconnect the battery. Not only does the A/C not work but the vent selector does not work and it takes a long time of cycling the selector switch through all the settings before it starts acting right again.

One yours it took about 30 minutes for your A/C to start working properly after I reconnected your battery. Your fancy stereo is still totally jacked up. I also had to have a little talk with your alarm system.

Yea mines only cooling when I'm on the highway properly it is very lazy at idle and it used to make like a grinding sound on engagement.

Oops - I should have asked the place that put it in what to expect after prolonged batter disconnect...
There is a Backup Battery hidden somewhere inside the truck that powers it as well....

Send me an e-mail with an avg cost for a motor - I may wanna send something to Darton East

You do not want to send one of these engines to be overhauled or built. They are to nice for that.

You can circle like a buzzard and look for someone that cracks a piston or something and they get one of these engines to run. You can get a good deal on their scraps to have overhauled or built. As long as the crank and cams are not scored that would be the way to go.

That way you save money and you can help the guy off set the cost of the good used engine.

that means $$$. I was contemplating on you pricing me one so I can swap a spare engine in while I pull my current one out to have it shipped and sleeved and there is no downtime but this will cost me more money than it's worth it seems like. Just for giggles. Shoot me a pm with a price shipped to 87111. :top: It would be nice to have a good spare engine on the side in case this one decides to give me problems.

G!!!

I have a super idea, how about you and I trade motors. My New 4cyl boxer engine for one of your boosted/tuned motors (V6+) My engine and ECU easily retail for 5k. Oh and I'll give you 2k for a motor swap??? Plus I'll throw in a boat ride!!!

It does not work this way.

When you are ready to purchase a good used engine call me.

I will search at that time and see what is available, mileage, what vehicle it was pulled from, and if I can get a warranty with it or not, and a price.

Generally they are in the $3000-$4000 range. Some might be cheaper as the mileage goes way up.
