Finally done with buying a home so now I can finally after 5 years work on my x-runner. Hi guys I tried searching the forum but have no particular answers to the questions I have.I have about 3 questions for anyone who has experience with the urd tcai and maf. Also for the Cali guys and some smog questions.. Thank you.

I want to buy the urd tcai with the plug n play maf calibrator.
Question 1:
So on the website it says that if I buy them both together the maf calibrator will already be tuned and premaped to the tcai. Does that mean all I have to do is install it onto my truck? I don't have to hook the maf cal To my own computer and map it myself before I install it?????

Question 2:
I live in Cali and you know the smog test issues and carb. When I smog test I'll remove the tcai and put back on the stock intake. If I do that will I have to remove the plug n play maf cal Too? or can I leave it on the truck with the stock intake?? Also whether I leave it on the truck or remove it will I have to retune the truck computer when I put back my stock intake or will it just go back to stock readings on its own?

Question 3:
Oh and also if I buy the urd cat back exhaust will that fail my smog test or will it not since I'll still have the stock obdII cats on?
And if I buy all 3 products from urd website will the calibrator be pretuned for all 3 products?

Thank you very much. I just need clarification before I buy these products.

I don't know anything about the MAF calibrator, but I did have the 1st gen TDR intake on my truck.

Just remember that the smog test needs to have data in your ECU for it to test. Be sure to have 40 miles on your truck after you've swapped the after-market intake system back to stock and cleared the data (I think it has to sit 10-15 minutes with the battery disconnected).

I had a 3" catback exhaust system and had no problems smogging with it (mine was only a catback... still had stock headers and all 4 cats).

I got mine smother earlier and it totally depends on the shop. When I went they did not even go under the car to see if I had the second set of cats. Some care some do not. I believe in doing things right but smog shops can be all over the map. Cats are matched to the vehicle and you can’t slap any cat on a vehicle according to the letter of the law. Good luck.

Yeah I finally had my cats replaced had the p0430 code on for like 3 years.. Then I went to get a smog this morning and I thought I didn't even see them look under the vehicle but on the paper it says.. Visual "pass" hahaha. You're right. First time at this shop Maybe I should make friends with them and always go to that shop hahaha.

I don’t think anyone answered the first question, I had the Urd TCAI and still have the MAF. I ordered them together. Yes if ordered together the MAF is pre mapped. It comes with a disk and instructions on other mapping options if you want to mess with it. I never did. I live in the lawless swamp of Florida so I don’t have any vehicle inspections so I can’t answer question 2.

Thank you sofloblue I was waiting till that first question got answered before I purchased those 2 products. Urd never emailed me back. Now finally I feel more in tuned about it and I want to purchase it now. I don't know nothing about mapping and never tried so now that u assured me that the maf cal is at least mapped with the tcai and I don't have any other mods I feel better about purchasing the maf cal as well. Thank you man.

Check the label on the unit when it arrives. It should tell you what map is loaded on it, when it was loaded, and who loaded it. If it doesn’t match the config you’re running just call tech support and they’ll get you straightened out.
