Hey XRU,

Picking up a pair of used XII Performance leaf springs and i just wanted everyone's opinion on them? How much better are they than the 2" blocks? Has anyone ever compared these with a pair of caltracs traction bars? How stiff was the suspension afterwards?

Let me know what your thoughts are.

Thanks,

If you are talking about the composite mono leaf springs, you can not use caltracs on them. They're not designed for additional pinch points created by the forward hinge. I've had the mono leafs for years and loved them, WAY better than blocks. I don't know why you'd try to "compare" a leaf spring to a traction bar. I've been running them so long I can't remember how the ride compares to stock, but I have zero complaints.

I'm referring to the steel leaf pack that they produced for a very short time, not the mono leaf.

I have a set sitting in my garage.....I'm told the ride quality is actually better than the monos. I'll be going to them in the spring.

Awesome. I'm just hoping that putting these in to replace my blocks, combined with QA1 shocks will be a huge improvement. Right now it just rides like total shit, but that could the Caltracs doing that.

I have them on my truck and I think they perform great. I had heard that the mono leaf rode worse, plus I sometimes have needed to haul my motorcycle in the truck, so I was glad to have an option that can still use the truck to haul things. I've also got the QA1s and they're excellent as well. :)

I have the 3" steel leaf springs, ride great with qa1

Awesome, this is what i like to hear. The main leaf on the driver side is broken but I'll be having a new leaf bent up. Should be as good as new once I have everything together.

Hmmm...
Stupid question has anyone here tried OEM rear replacement springs for Pre-runner’s/4x4’s?
The replacement springs are 3 leafs plus the overload leaf. The springs they replaced were 2 leafs plus the overload.
I had the 2 leaf springs and they would bottom out all the time. I picked up a set of the replacement springs (good friend works in parts for a local dealer). I’m shocked on the difference in ride. The ride is basically the same but they don’t bottom. I also have a second set of replacement springs.

I have been running with the TSB 4x4 leafs for about two years now. The ride is good, they don't bottom out and I still got about 1.5" of drop as compared to stock X-Runner leaf springs.

If you need a cheap way to drop the back end of the truck and still maintain a good ride, the TSB 4x4 leafs are a good option to consider. Lots of 4x4 guys willing to get rid of their leaf springs after they replace them with bigger springs.

Yes I would love to know the manufacturer of the 3 inch steel drop springs, I have called a couple places and was quoted 1200 I think that's a lil overkill

Good to hear!
My buddy hooked me up with the set in our truck now, don’t ask me how. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I picked up a second set that I’m putting up for sale...

I have a supplier that can produce 2" or 3" drop springs for $900 USD + shipping if anyone is seriously interested (lead time is aprrox 2 weeks)

I can also do 2" mono composite rear springs for $600 USD but manufacturing time is about 3 months

This is great news!! Any luck checking how well those coil overs work at stock ride height?

To be completely honest I havnt got around to it yet. Winter came along and it is too cold to be trying to adjust ride height in the driveway.

Im anticipating that the ride height will be able to be adjusted up to stock height. But I will confirm 100% for you.
