Bent tailgate or profile of tailgate
If you are looking from the side, the tail gate should have a bit of convex. Well actually, it's thicker in the middle. But if you look from top to bottom, it should be straight. I'm well versed in shifting w/o the clutch in, and if I hit the sweet spot shifting into 5th, usually around and right under 2500 rpm, I can sometimes get it not to grind. Not really an acceptable workaround for me, I rather just short shift to 6th!- stan23

09 LED tail lights on RR?
Hi, I've been considering getting the newer LED tail lights to update the rear look on my '06 XR. Problem is, not sure if they will look to 'ricey' on my RR truck. Anyone has a pic? I've come up empty!- stan23

haha.. I usually just short shift to 6th, so it hasn't been a problem. Also my daily driving never involves the freeway so I never have to go to 5th. I just want to fix it in the future.- stan23

Looking to replace the 5th gear syncro on my truck, as it grinds shifting into 5th anything past 2500rpm. I am reading conflicting reports that it can't be done, and no one has done it. Should I just go spring for a used tranny? Not interested in doing the T56 swap right now.- stan23

FOR SALE: 2005 X-Runner URD Supercharged
You figure, an '05 XR with 180K, and with throw out bearing noise you can get 10 ish for. The rest of the mods including the URD super charger (In CA, you can't sell a car that is not smog legal) are easily worth another 5K. That's pretty close to your asking price! -
