Someone needs to come up with a rear sway bar for this truck. It could handle soooo much better. It is a heavy truck for a mid-size. Tires and lowering are a way to improve handling but both have there limitations and drawbacks. 1.DallasCowboys first on the list for the group buy.:driver:

Sure we can use a larger rear swaybar. After all, our rear swaybar is the same one they use on everyother 05+ taco.

I am not so sure that other 05+ tacos even have a rear swaybar.

You have to be careful making the rear swaybar to stiff. You can unballance the handling and make the truck oversteer badly and cause you to spin out very easily. I think overall the handling of the truck is very well balanced. I even put a 350z into the bushes that was trying to ride my bumper on a windy road. He could not hang...

Thats why god invented Counter-Steer!

You have no idea how easy this truck is to get sideways unless you guys are really trying to.

It was completely dry outside one day and I power-shifted out of 1st gear early into 2nd gear while taking a turn, kicked the ass end out with over 45 degree angle and kept it going transitioning back and forth to the top of 2nd gear.

So like Gadget said, its good enough as it is! :top:

What we need is a better rear drop, blocks are easy, cheap and get the job done. But hinder performance greatly, and increase the need for traction bars and a watts link.

What we really need is a de-arched rear leaf, that would be the best performance drop made for the rear.

As for the rear sway bar, the stock XR rear sway is larger then any aftermarket made for the XR

They also should come out with a strut bar a 4 link maybe,,, With a strut bar and a better sway bar would make truck handle a lot better and stiffer.....

Just add our Trac Bars, you will notice the diff...
Glen, Help me out here. How will traction bars help the sway in a turn. I had a Sonoma that would out perform these XRs in handling any day of the week. I installed a beefier front sway bar and gave it a 4-5 drop. I miss that handling in a truck. Would love to get this XR to handle better.:driver:
