Guys... this is the only way i can discribe when this is happening...

at a stop sign coming of the clutch gently and hitting the gas moderately the truck boggs...almost as if there is not enough power...it picks back up after about 20 yards but... its really weird... any ideas on what i should do...

just changed the oil with mobil one synthetic 600+ miles ago.

Since your only mod is that intake and any issues with airflow on your MAF sensor can cause the symptoms your having, i would start with the intake as being the culprit.

Any CEL?

Agreed. You should make sure the filter is on properly and that the pipes are connected and sealed well.

How many miles on the truck?

i Have That Same Problem When I Go From Super Unleded To Regualer So I Would Think It Is The Gas As Well

I think this could be a possibility. The ECU should essentially adjust accordingly to the octane level it's seeing (by raising knock threshold, etc). To lower the octane may cause something similar while the ECU adapts to the sudden change.

I have been using 90+ octane... this has been happening since i had it...i guess i will change the plugs (only have 16000 miles). Any suggestions on the plugs...brand etc....

Here is a curve ball, this was happening before I installed the intake as well.

interesting...

pedal to the metal and then let off the clutch

in all seriouseness, when you put it in first and step on the gas, can you see your rpms going up normally as in when you are in neutral?

When I drove mine off the lot yesterday, it was very bogged. I thought something was wrong. I kept stalling too, but just figured it was me. Its been driving great since, but at low speeds in first and second gear, it sounds like something is grinding in the trans. Its the same rattle you hear if you shift way too soon... Any ideas ?

When I was at the atm machine just now, I could really hear it. I'm going to bring it in to find out wtf is up with my 24 hour old truck, that I havent even floored once yet.

Sounds like the Tacoma tick Volt. Every Tacoma engine I've heard makes a little knock or ticking noise, you'll get used to it eventually.

yea change plugs, clean filter, make sure theres no hose leaks in the intake, could be the gas you use....I had something similar happen to my truck, did a complete maintenance and now its all good

Grind and rattle are 2 diferent things :hmmmm2:

With mine I usually grind if I shift really quick. What I have been told is that thats the synchros :dontknow: reason why I shift like 80 year old grandma now :top:

The sounds it made while at the atm must surely be the ticking of the engine (this is normal) and hopefully not the tranny (tranny shouldnt be making strange noises when standing still in neutral), you should hear miy engine tick
