About 2 months ago I took the face off my heater controls to paint it. That came out fine and put it all back together and ever since the far right knob and A/C button dont light up when the headlights are on. Anyone know what happened there? No loose wires and they are LEDs so no burned out bulbs, Id think :hmmmm2:

i believe they are normal bulbs in there arent they? you say no loose wires, but maybe one of the two connectors is loose or not connected?

Ive seen on here that they are LEDs...

And that would not explain why only half dont work. They all get power from the same wire.

They are not LED's... they are little tiny bulbs that are built in to the holder. I know this because I just replaced one myself, but mine was the left side, not the right... Same thing happened to me, it died when I installed my deck.

I forked over $17CDN for the little tiny bulb. :motz:

I'll take a pic of the part bag and burnt bulb in a few minutes so you guys have a part #...

Hmm intresting. Thanks. I wanted to change them to blue so it will match the cluster when I do it.

Found the bulb, bag, and receipt. And sad to say, but the total was more than $17CDN... more like $19.69. $20 for a bulb? :stupid: :argh:

I would dig around and see if you can find a generic part for cheaper. And in case you're wondering, no, I can't get the bulb out of the socket, it looks to be a single unit somehow. :hmmmm2:

Intresting. I get parts at 10% over cost so it should be to bad.

LOL, must be nice... it'll be way better than what I paid... as for blue, it'll probably be some work since it looks like the bulb is clear, and whatever is inside the climate control system is whats making it orange/amber when its lit up...

Yeah Ive been reading about that tonight. Im going to see if I can replace the amber piece inside the controls, doubtful that can be done but its worth a look anyways.

No way to change them with out some modifications, theres an orange coating on the panel that has to be carefully removed. I have seen only one owner that has accomplished this. There was some pics posted here one time before.

haha.. seems this faulty right side bulb isn't uncommon. I had taken the control unit out one time and then the right side light stopped working. Bought a new one and replaced it and it still didn't work. Gave it good hit and it started working again. I pulled everything out and looked for shorts etc and couldn't find anything wrong. I still to this day have to give it a good hit to come on. It's been about a month since the last beating and it's still going strong. I've just learned to deal with it.
