Wow... so it appears they would rather not have jobs at all than take a pay cut :hmmmm2: ... is that what I just read?

you have to look at it from a diffrent point of view. yes they screwed them selfs over the years and blah blah.

the problem is that if they close shop things will get worse for everyone else. there is a chrysler van and truck plant 15 miles from my house the truck plany has already closed. it has hurt local bussiness more than anyone thought it could. if the other plany closes it will close the doors of alot of family owned bussnisses and lead to layoffs else where.

its all in the butterfly effect.

i dont believe that we should have bailed out ANY company. that means banks especially banks. but not to get political.........

it will help more than it will hurt.

Well when they are this stupid as to not do what it takes to stay afloat..As in cut wages of over paid workers anyway. Then they should go under.

I think this whole thing is a deadly cycle and stuff is gonna have to get REALLY bad to get better. I don't want to see anyone broke and homeless, but the longer this whole situation goes on, the more it seems like that is the only solution.

People naturally won't cut back on anything unless they absolutely have to. Our society is a spoiled "civilization". I'm just as guilty, as are most of us who are always looking for the next mod for our trucks.

I saw a lot of this in the 80's with the oil business in the Houston Area. It is very easy for a 500 man company that goes under taking 200 vendor companies with it. Multiply that by 1000s.

I do not agree with a bail out. I believe in a restructure. Both management and labor taking cuts and a game plan that makes sense. Bailout should be a low interest loan with a game plan to pay it back.

I believe in the free enterprise system and the laws of supply & demand. You can't force it. If there is a demand for a product, some one will supply it. You can't offer a product that no one wants to buy, no matter how much money you throw at it.

Thats what the gov't did for Chrysler the FIRST time it was going to go under. And Chrysler paid it back too. Now they are basically scoffing at the idea of having to pay it back.
