I have a small dent right next to my hood scoop, it looks like it could have been hail damage or something. What's the best way to take a dent out like this? I've heard heating it and then spraying it with a can of compressed air while its upside down will pop it out, but i tried it on a dent i had on my tailgate and it didn't come out.

EDIT - When i say small i mean like, say you shot a piece of metal with a BB gun and it dented it, that would be about the size of this dent

That heating / cooling method won't work. Your best bet is to take it to one of those paintless dent removal shops. If you look under the hood can you touch or get to the spot that has the dent? I ask because they need to be able to get to it in order to try and remove it.

Go to Harbor Freight and tools and they have the paintles dent removal kit for $25. I had dings and dents in my truck and there now history!!!! You just use the hot glue gun to place the post in the middle of the dint then twist the wing nut till it pops out. Very easy.:top:

I had one of those dent removal guys take out a few dents from my XRunner.

Money well spent. It is like he was working magic or something.

Get it done by a pro and you wont be sorry.

Paintless Dent Removal is the way to go. If you aren't familiar with pulling dents on your own and are not familiar or experienced with metal-working in general, I would strongly recommend against a do-it-yourself job. It's too easy to foul up.

A good PDR job will take about 45mins and cost around $75, but that'll be the best $75 you can spend on it.

Look it up in your phone book under automotive body shops. Also, go talk with your insurance agent, they should be able to point you towards a shop they recommend even if you're paying out of your own pocket.
