I admit... I'm lazy and most of the time I use quick splices but I plan on redoing and adding some wiring and components this summer and was just interested in everyone's feedback.

Solder FTW, i've personally had quick splices fail on me and it's easier IMO to do it right the first time. Nothing worse than having to do something twice when it could have been avoided. Solder also looks cleaner when wrapped with shrink wrap rather than a big plastic connector.

I know that soldering is the better, more permanent solution but this ^^ is the kind of information that really sways me. This is more a poll to see who uses what... so BE HONEST! I've already admitted that my lazy azz usually slaps a QS on and calls it a day.

if it's not a piece you plan on taking out or disconnecting frequently, then solder only make sense

Quik splices are garbage. Do it right the first time and you don't have to worry about it.

I don know that I can count the the number or wiring jobs I have fixed due to crappy connectors. Solder it the first time. Plus, its fun to melt stuff :top::laugh:

I've soldered ever since a friend used tap splices to install a keyless entry system on my '91 celica and almost totally screwed the power doors altogether. i'm not sure how he did it, but it was never the same after that.

If I was supposed to answer this poll with what *I* use please change my answer.

However, if this is a poll on what we *should* use then leave it the same.

QS FTW!

If you are talking about speakers, I def need components. Maybe this summer Ill roll out there and we can install some. I know you do a lot of research in those areas so that would help me out lol.

Anyways back to your thread. I dont do either.
