Hmmm.......Aren't we faster than a lighting FI vs FI?.....Every X I have seen runs 13.5 or lower S/C........

Congrats man! I've specialized in Ford for 7yrs now. The three times I've been to factory training we have got to work on Lightnings and they are pretty nice! The day I bought my X I was actually looking to score a rare color Lightning, but saw the X and fell in love! Did u get a rare color or the norm=black??

not trying to down a lighting...they are quick....but I think we are quicker... and I gotta have a standard....plus the handling..... So I am pretty sure this was just preference.... congrats on the buy I guess man.

well i dont realy know, ive only had it for five days. i loved my x, but it was going to take me a long time and money to have it the way i wanted it. plus i couldnt afford my payments no more.

i got the dark grey one.

thanks u guys, yeah it was hard to let go my x. it was one of the best trucks ive ever had. also i just wanted something bigger.

When I was looking at trucks, it was between the Ford F-150 FX2 Sport, and the Lightning. But they were both Automatic. I enjoy driving a Manual 1000 times more, so I kept looking and found my XR.

Enjoy the truck man! I do like the way they look from the outside, but the interior was rather plain on them (to me, anyway?).

You have a video camera? I'd love to see a 'virtual tour' of it, and an acceleration video!

If you have the $, upgrade the blower on it. I hear the stockers are rather shitty.

Wasn't there a member on here who has a brother with a Lightning? He was able to keep ahead of it I believe with his blown XR. The Lightning had the stock blower on it, though.

And yes, Kenne Bell.

Also, how much were you paying for the XR? Insurance included?

What about the Lightning? Just wondering. Congrats!

Is only like 100 dollars difference, and yeah i love manual to but there wasnt an option. And u know i thought gas was going to be a problem but not really. Yeah there is a diffrence but not a tragic change.

At least you didn't buy some granny whip like a camry or corolla :top:

I've always liked the SVT Lightning's, they're definitely quick... Auto is definitely a downer and they also don't handle well at all from what i've read, so watch out for those XR's on the twisties

Yes, I have walked a modded lightning so have a couple other boosted XRs I know.

Still a nice truck though and if he wants to build the engine and go Whipple charged he can make some nice power.

Like anything, the faster vehicle is the one with the bigger wallet as well.

Now handling... yeah.

Glad to hear you like your new toy.
