Yes, I have walked a modded lightning so have a couple other boosted XRs I know.
Still a nice truck though and if he wants to build the engine and go Whipple charged he can make some nice power.
Like anything, the faster vehicle is the one with the bigger wallet as well.

Not sure what you mean here, are you saying that Lightning's are more expensive to buy/own? They can actually be purchased quite cheap, a quick auto trader search shows me plenty of 01-04's with under 40k miles for less than $20k. Sure they're a little older than than the XR's but you're also getting a 380HP supercharged V8 with the 01+ model.
I'm not saying anything against the XR's, as we have a much better suspension package, but when you look at spending under $18k for a truck as quick as a lightning with low miles, that's a pretty good deal if you ask me :top:
I do, however, think that the styling is starting to become outdated..
