Ran last night and did pretty decent I think. Deff need to work on driving though since this was my first time running. On one run I cut a 2.0 60' but missed second and had a shitty pass from there. But best pass is as follows....

60' - 2.22
330 - 5.94
1/8 - 9.08
MPH - 80.38
1000 - 11.68
1/4 - 13.89
MPH - 102.65

If I could cut that 2.0 60' again I think things would have been quite a bit better!

good times! get you some Drag radials and I bet you will see better times. Also I was trapping 104 or so with about the same mods... really nice times for first time!

Oddly, when I cut the 2.0 60' I was wheel hopping like a mofo and the 2.2 60' had none. Just gotta find a way to plant this truck's ass and it'll move. Also need to decide now if the getting the X1 would be more beneficial or getting a traction bar would.

I wojuld put drag radials as number 4 in steves little list, as the x1 will always be in the truck, and you only need drag radials for the track. So unless you live on the track, they are not as much as a necessity.

Well I think the trac bar is deff the first thing I'll be doing. Pretty confident I could get a 13.6ish if I cut out the wheel hop. I've been dodging the X1 for some time because I can't really justify spending another 1,300 dollars on parts... and I really don't wanna have to pull the supercharger.

On 10/8/10 I had a higher trap speed but a really bad launch. My first time with drag radials:

2010-10-24_17-31-03_836.jpg

Went to the track today and made a BUNCH of runs. The T56 is much harder to launch due to the much taller first gear. It seems I am either bogging/stalling or smoking them. I think there is a serious bug in the X-Tune .05 Launch control that was causing some problems. I had a nice guy give me some advise. He noticed that my truck is really fast, but I can't launch worth a damn so he worked with me a little bit.

First thing he said to stop using the launch control and just drive the truck. Next he had me up the tire pressure in the drag radials to 35 PSI. The 15 PSI was just to damn sticky.

Made one really good launch and did not screw up any shifts, but the top end power really sagged a lot. Here is the slip for that run:

2010-10-24_17-32-31_226.jpg

The loss of power on the top end had me very concerned, but turned out to be a belt problem. I lost a whole rib off of the belt and it was half off of the supercharger pulley. The supercharger was only being driven by 3 ribs and was slipping baddly. That was the reason for the loss of power.

So, reset the belt and made another 12 second pass, 12.886 at 110.44 with some loss of top end power and belt dust all over the supercharger, only 5 good ribs and one real iffy. Made another pass, lost more power and ran 13.138 at 104.06 and the belt was starting to shred badly so I called it a day and milked it home.

I really think that if that belt did not half jump off the supercharger pulley, I would of finally pulled ahead of Pool's time. Oh so close...

This is the original belt from years ago and was used on the original Mk1 system. Got some good life out of it...

Guess I need to go back and try it again.

Hopefully the next run I can have a much nicer 12 second pass without this happening....

I must of lost 60 RWHP from it.

35 people is way to much, slip that clutch and pull off a low 12 run!

35 psi is street pressure. I would drop it back down to 15 psi and just launch it harder. You're one of the few people who complain about a tire being "too sticky."

Mickey Thompson recommends the following pressures for their ET Street Radials:

295 and larger sizes: 11-14 psi.
275 and smaller: 12-16 psi.

On the race track DO NOT use starting pressures below 11 psi.

They recommend running 75% of the max psi noted on the sidewall when driving on the street.

Those ET and MPH numbers are still killer though.

Maybe so, but in all the runs at the track I have only made 3 good launches and it was at that tire pressure.

Next time I go back with a good supercharger belt, I will try dropping the tire pressure a little at time and see if I can get an improvement, but finally I am on the right track, maybe...

Just guessing, old age and bouncing off the rev limiter to much during the burn out.
