Driving home from work on Tuesday and Mom calls me and says get your ass home asap... I was like damn wtf did I do now...:hmmmm2: So I call her when I get to the gym and asked her whats going on... She got a letter from the great Motor Vehicle Administration saying my tags were suspended effective 06-10-10 because I did not comply with the Repair Order issued to me back in March for "illegal tint"... Now I'm pissed because I took care of it and had a Sheriff sign off on my ticket and I mailed it in 2-3 weeks BEFORE it was due and I'd been driving on suspended tags unknowingly for 5 days... So I call them yesterday and they say "Oh well he cant sign off on it, it has to be a Maryland State Trooper or Authorized Inspection Station." :banghead: So I got the paper they sent me signed AGAIN by one of the "Proper Authorities" to get me unsuspended. So I call again, what do I do now I ask? They tell me I need to go the a specific MVA located over an hour from my house on either TUESDAY OR THURSDAY between 8 and 10 am to get a certain Trooper to verify my paperwork and unsuspend my tags. I said wow only 2 days for 2 hours? :hmmmm2: The guy got snippy and said "Yeah we have other things to do." So guess who has to go to the MVA tomorrow... All this because I had my front windows tinted the same as the rest of the truck and that's illegal in Maryland... Oh and I cant retint because if I do and get caught, It's a $500 fine or 6 months in jail... :bawling:

Sorry for the long post just pissed at how this all turned out, Gotta love Tint laws... :rolleyez:

I agree while having dark tint on front windshields may cause POPO's to be a little more edgy when walking up to the car/truck cause they can't see the drive...but seriously I wish they would make a law where if you had no violent police records; not a drug dealer, gangsta, no moving violations, no outstanding warrants, etc...you should be allowed to have limo tint all the way around if you wanted to...that's just MHO...

i feel for you bro...while I have never been pulled over for having 5% tint all the way around with 35% on my entire front windshield...I have been pulled over for my tinted tails...was warned to remove them and would be on my record for 2-3 weeks before it got removed out of the system...I showed him a BMW that was sitting at a stop light with even darker tails (most likely painted) and he said "yeah that's way too dark I can actually still see the red in your tail lights"...that's why I think he let me off with a warning...

There are two SEROs that can be issued to you that are a super PITA to get taken care of in MD, Tint, and broken speedo. Most everything else can be signed off on by any peace officer, but those two you have to jump through a lot of hoops.

So, if you ever get stopped for speeding, DO NOT EVEN JOKE THAT YOUR SPEEDO IS OFF. That is like cutting your own throat.

A lot is a understatement, I spent the majority of my morning on the phone instead of working... Major PITA. :crinklehair:

No, you can't go to jail for tint.

Now if you don't take care of it and get your registration suspended and get caught driving on a suspended registration that is a tad more serious than driving with tint.

I don't think driving on a suspended registration is jailable in MD, but things may have changed...

They were 20 to match the rest of the truck... And he said he pulled me over for tint, didnt get me on radar but said I was "moving" :laugh:

Speaking of illegal tint I need to call the state of california and bitch cuz they never sent me the paymesnt thing in the mail and now want almost $400 because I didn't send it in on time.

I've had 2 illegal tint tickets in the titan.. its limo tinted all the way around and you absolutly can not see in the truck at night. I have nothing to hide from cops.. its theives that I worry about.
