What do you guys think about these Goodyear F1's? The guy at the shop told me that they come stock on Corvette's and that he can do them for $130/ea.

Eagle F1 Supercar tires are Goodyear's Max Performance Summer tires developed for the drivers of select performance cars, like the Chevrolet Corvette C-5 Z06, Chrysler 300C SRT and Ford GT. Eagle F1 Supercar tires are designed to emphasize dry road traction and handling. Like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Eagle F1 Supercar tires feature a high grip Goodyear AAtrax tread compound (the AAtrax name emphasizing that the Eagle F1 Supercar earns the highest "AA" Uniform Tire Quality Grade wet traction rating) molded into a slightly reduced tread depth (just 6/32" to 7/32" of new tread depth on Ford GT tires and 8/32" for Corvette tires) asymmetric tread design that combines large outer shoulder and intermediate tread blocks to increase initial steering response and cornering stability with a solid center rib to maintain constant road contact and enhance straight-line tracking. Wide circumferential grooves and smaller interior tread and shoulder blocks help water escape from between the tire and the road to maintain wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. The tire's structure includes twin, high-tensile steel belts reinforced with spirally wound Aramid to distribute the vehicle’s load across the tire’s footprint providing high-speed durability and uniform ride qualities. Polyester body plies enhance high temperature and high-speed durability while exterior sidewall rim flange protectors help guard wheels against curb damage.

i looked it those tires to..... not sure though... frim customer reviews online i read alot that said they only got about 10-13000 miles out of them... i know driving styles vary but when a lot of peps said that............ i went with the nitto 555 and got them at 25000 and i now have 50000 on the truck.. i am expecting to maybe be somewhere between 60-70k when i need new ones....

so take it for whats its worth....spend $600 now then another 600 in a few months or 12-1300 now and get some more bonding time with the tires.....

how many miles do you drive in a year??

im planning on getting 30-40 out of these nittos.. i know i will hit 30 since im at 25 now and there is plenty of tread......

the supercar tires might be so cheep cause they dont last too long????????? thats just a thought..

So tire guy, what would be your recommendation?
Let's say in price ranges.

1. $125-$175
2. $175-$225
3. $225+

They are a shitty tire.

They came on my moms 05 Vette and they were horrible. The wet traction was just dangerous also. The car now has like 20K and she has had a new set on there for a while now.

Those were on my truck when I bought mine. I bought the truck with 24k miles on it and the tires were replaced at 40k miles only because I had horrible uneven wear because I didn't really pay attention to my tire pressure like I should. They were great tires. Now I'm using BF Goodrich G-Force tires. I love my new tires

When I had my 18's I had them. They were fine, even wear if you rotate them. Handled well too.

FYI, they are NOT the same tire as the Vettes. Look them up, there are the ones you found and ones for the Vette that are much more expensive.

That's an extremely good price. Check the date of manufacture off the tire. There has to be a reason they are being sold that cheap.

i know people hate on those tires, but i AM running them right now on the X. granted i have nothing to compare them to but i can tell you they dont have "dangerous" wet traction, but i dont drive like a tard in the rain. i also autox'ed with them and they seemed to hold quite well, although i did break them loose quite abit, due to newbie-ish throttle punches.

I have always had trouble with Firestone, GoodYear, and BF Goodrich tires. The last set of GoodYears that I had smoked. Yes, when I got up to about 80, smoke would pour out of the tires. I was scared of driving around with them. The guy that says the tires are a joke, I believe him. When one works for a company, one really knows if their products are any good.

I have heard good things about Nitto, Hankook, Michelin, and Pirelli Nero Zero.

Goodyears came stock on my Dakota R/T I think they were RSA's:hmmmm2:. I never had any issues with them, handled great dry and wet.
Remember kiddies, the only thing that makes tires dangerous in the rain is your poor judgement when slamming the accelerator peddle to the floor:top: That is unless u owned a Ford Explorer with those popping Firestones, that's the only tire that's allowed to be called Dangerous.

I own an 2006 Corvette. I put new tires last year and they run about $1800 for 4, installed, balanced and alignment. I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 245/40ZR18 & 285/35ZR19. This is my 3rd set, this was my daily driver for 4+ years. The F1 are great, but wear out quickly and you have to have the tire pressure consistent, something that the Vette shows for each tire with a push of a button. If the $130 price is for tires for the your truck, I am going to be thrilled paying for new tires when I will need them, spending less than a $1000, haven't done that since I had my 86 1/2 Supra. Traded that in 95 for a 94 Twin-turbo Supra, yes, red with the big whale tale and targa top.
