Is reading a requirement to work at Discount Tire? I do a lot of highway driving so I picked a tire that I think will last. BF Goodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S. My wife works next to a Discount Tire location so she took the truck today. When she got home I looked over the truck and they had put the directional tires on backwards...yes the arrow was pointing to the rear. Needless to say my wife knows what to look for now but damn these guys put on hundreds of tires a day and they dont know how to read. Maybe tire companies can draw a picture in color for them. I have a short temper so I won't be going up there but I just wanted to vent and to see if anyone works there or if you think I can get a refund on the installation that was not done correctly. I swapped them in the dark tonight. I am scared if I took it back to them to fix they may start trying to fill up my blinker fluid.

Lol, I work at Discount tire and we have never done anything like that. You should have brought it back to them. I bet they would have given you a deal or something

The tires were mounted right, but they just put them on the wrong side of the vehicle. Was probably just a communication error with the balancer and the guy bolting up.

its not that big of a deal,

people make mistakes everyday, no matter how easy it is..

no need to get hot headed over it. All you had to do was take it back and they would have fixed it :top:

my wife's car had directional tires, when she came home they were backwards. i found it kind of humerus.

took it back, they were on top of the ball and apologized for it.

Yep, just take it back and ask them swap the wheels to the correct side. Should take them <5 minutes. It's not a big deal for them, and I'm sure they want to do the job right.

If people would just take their time and not "assume" things are the right way, shit like this would never happen. Whoever says this kind of stuff happens all the time and its fine is crazy. It depends on what your working on. No matter what. What about forgetting to torque down the lug nuts? or just not tighten them at all like they did to my buddies truck?! Directional tires are opposite, lug nuts forgotten, whats the difference?

My buddies tire came flying off about 20 miles on his way back home and put him into a ditch. Hes lucky he didn't roll, he had his 5 yr old kid with him too. thats complete BS to me. I will never go to a discount tire place, hell, i wont go anywhere with "discount" in the name.

That's why they call it discount tire. The discount is the money you save is for them to pay people that can't read. They are paying people that slept through high school.

bro you need to calm down, not everyone is as vehicle as we are. putting a tire on backwards and not tightening a lug nut are two different things.

It's not Discount tire in general. certain shops have certain morons working there. It's the luck of the draw really. We've all worked at places with complete and total morons. My dad & I bought tires for our vehicles at Discount one day, when we got to his house, all of my wheel weights had fallen off, and all but one of his had as well (found one in the street in front of the house) and I had a couple loose lugs as well.

On the flip side, I recently bought some Rikon Raptors from Discount, they matched Fletchers price (which was over $300 cheaper) and they even put my spare back under the bed even though I told em not to worry about it...

alot of places rarely ever see directional tires. once in a blue moon yeah but like previously said there was prolly some miscommunication between someone or something. it was caught soon so no harm done. even if you noticed a few days later im sure they would still do something. i think the steel belts can take a little driving before things turn south. most techs usually ask " white walls in or out" and rarely ever notice the black arrow on the tire. and with the lugs most shops dont allow you to put them back on without the torque wrench attached to the impact gun. if they weren't on there at all then thats their fault... but EVERYONE nees to check their vehicle after ANY work is done at ANY shop. the lugs need to be checked after a certain amount of miles anyway after tire work is done. and the owner needs to check them before they leave the shop just incase cuz yeah your paying them to do the work but your also putting 100% faith and your life in there work so its a two way road. As long as no one is hurt then thats what counts bro look at it that way. a tire can be replaced....you and your family cant be.

Probably a good thing to check the "build date" on the tire. Want to avoid new "old stock" tires from anyone.
