HID's not working

Alright I'm having a problem with the HID's in my truck now first off I'm no stranger to HID conversions I have the headlight and fogs done in the truck, my car, my wife's car and my bike. I know how to hook em up with and without the relay harnesses and I've been trying to trouble shoot this for some time now but just cant seem to figure it out. So here we go.

Currently I have the DDM tuning 35W kit installed in the headlights and fogs with no issues what so ever they fire up first time every time. However when I try to switch the headlights to the DDM 55W kit the passenger side will not work it flashes for a half second and that's it. I know its not the bulb or ballast as I have switched both and the problem remains on the passenger side I have also tried 3 different wire harnesses to no effect. I have also switched the fogs back to stock halogen as well as disconnected them completely with no effect on the passenger headlight(still does not work).

Next problem I can put a new fresh set of bulbs in the 35W kit and like I said it fires up first try every try. After switching to the 55W the passenger does not work as mentioned above. Then when switching back to the 35W the passenger bulb starts to have problems like not turning on first try it takes like 2-3 try's but if I put a new fresh bulb it works no problem. It ONLY starts to act up after I try the 55W then switch back to the 35W.

To take it one step further I have tried the same 35W and 55W setup in my 06 corolla as well and I run into the exact same issue with just the passenger side not working with the 55W but it works flawlessly with the 35W kit.

A second step I have tried it in my wife's 08 Yaris and both the 55w and 35W work flawlessly.

I can't figure out what the difference is between my wife's car and my two, why does it work in hers and not mine?

I have had this problem with the hi/low h4 HID's and the current D2S bulbs in the projector conversion. So I also know that its no just related to the H4 bulbs. And the corolla uses 9006's so again I know its not just the h4's.

I have read on the forums of guys running the DDM 55W kit in the headlights and even the fogs at the same time with no problems so what am I missing here?

ANY help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

first dont use the relay harness... this is just a test to see if both the ballast and bulb works. hook it up how you would do normally with a normal bulb if you know how to. if everything is fine after that i will have to say its your relay. you should be fine without a relay harness (35w or 55w) for a while under minimal use and if you need a seperate wiring harness let me know i have awesome hook ups in that department.

im not sure if i understand everything but it seems like your using a 35w bulb with a 55w ballast and vise versa. that is a no no unless you are dealing with genuine parts like phillips or morimotos. you have to use a 35w bulb with a 35w ballast and a 55w bulb with a 55w ballast.

i know corollas need a certain type or relay because of there daytime running lights being there headlights itself causes the ballast and bulb to flicker and go haywire thus resulting in failure

please let me know if i missed something.

Well as I said I have switched the bulbs and ballast to the drivers side and they work and I've tried 3 different h4 harnesses I'm currently running it with no harness right now, I'm using the morimoto can-bus setup instead of a big ol' harness. It could very well be the bulbs themselves as your right I'm using the same bulbs for both the 35W and 55W kit BUT it states on DDM Tunning's web site that there bulbs are designed for both the 35 and 55W kits, they only offer the one type of bulb no matter what wattage the kit is. Unlike the morimotos which state that they are specificity for 35w or 55w.

wow so simply saying that can mean that you are running a 55w bulb into a 35w ballast from that i can understand why it wont work up to standard. dont use the canbus harness just plug it directly into the stock, you should be fine like that just to test everything out.

reguardless from the trial and error there is no reason for switching one kit from the passenger side to the drivers side cause they are basically the same thing, are you driving the drivers side to the passengers side and the working kit doesnt work still? if not read your pm im sure that this will cure everything.

I read the pm that is a 9006 low beam harness I need a h4 bi-xenon harness which I have already from TRS like I said in the above posts I have tried 3 different harnesses including the TRS one to no avail. The simplest way to say it would be no matter what I do harness or no harness different bulb or different ballast it just does not work on the passenger side. And this is ONLY with the 55W kit the 35W works perfectly. So it's not like I don't have HID's but I really want the 55W kit for the higher output.

even the bi xenon h4 from trs should allow either the 35w or 55w hid kit to work properly as its main power source is direct from the battery. i understand that when you put the passenger side to the driver side it work but when you vise versa it with the same exact one it doesnt work. i have no idea now lol it should work if you have the h4 harness.... its times like these i need to be there to see everything to solve it

Aright I followed your advice from the previous post and used some extra 9006 connector I had laying around to directly plug the stock connector into the ballast and still the passenger side does not work so I guess at this point it has something to do with the trucks stock wiring? Do I need to up the fuse for the headlights or something like that?

ON a side note I used two wires connected to each positive on the ballasts and touched them to the positive terminal on the battery and both ballast fired right up but when I hooked up the TRS H4 harness the passenger side did not work. This does not make sence to me as the harness is a direct conect to the battery so it should work just the same as touching two wires to the positive terminal.:hmmmm2:
