Thanks buddy. I think these lights would look good on an RR, they make the truck look that much newer. I didnt want to buy anything aftermarket when it comes to lights so Im glad OEM ones look this good. I might have to tint them though for a more custom look.

Someone has to chime in on this. I know from experience during the bright sunny day those lights are not bright at all. I look at that as a safety issue. If anything i would smoke them out a good bit.

Ya Ill wait to see what they look like on the truck first but Im sure Ill want to tint them. I originally wanted to tint my 08' tails but I like the option of going back to stock when it comes time to sell, plus I cant remember seeing a newer set smoked out on here before.

Pretty shitty though about the brightness of the lights, never really thought about it with them being leds and all but I know what you mean. It could be a saftey issue, especially if I smoked them out.

I just put on the OEM LED tail lights about 2 month ago or so and i love them. They look great!

As far as the brightness goes, they seem fine to me. When you step on the brakes, the lights are clearly visible. I have not gotten a single complaint about them being dim or anything.

And i think they would look really good smoked :top:

how much does a set of the 09 LED's normally run? I'd like to have something more custom for tails than just light covers right now....I hate light covers but they look better than stock.

I didnt want to cheap out and deal with issues down the road.

Just giving my advice as a toyota tech. Try looking at any of the newer 09-11 tailights on the tacomas they are all the same

Not RR, but I installed the OEM LEDs on my old 2006 BSP XR. At night they were super bright. During the day if the sun was shining directly on them then they weren't as bright due to the chrome.

Ya I just bought a set off a 2010 from xero sin tonight.

Thanks for the pics bro, havent seen any good night shots since Ive been looking to buy a set. I think that tinting them would help with the glare from the chrome around the leds, keeping the sun off of it a little better. Or even a bhlm and paint it another colour like tunedx.
