I go to take my truck in to get the ecu reflashed for the trd s/c. They break the news that any body that knows how to drive, hate To hear. They have to do the gas pedal ecu reflash, before the trd s/c reflash.
For all of you that forgot, that makes so that if I hit the gas and brake at same time, the throttle slams shut, and Nothing happens. So no more heal toe down shifts, no more brake stands. I'm pissed, but I'm also not a complete dumb ass, and I know that the stop light switch, on my brake pedal, go to the ecu, before my it goes to my actuall tail lights.
Now I have two options, when I'm at the track, I can just remove the brake switch plug and have no brake lights, but at least still have normal throttle opperation. Option 2, wire in my own stop light circuit, that bypasses the ecu. Then I will at least get brake lights, and in theory, the ecu wont know the difference. It will just think I never, ever, ever, hit the brakes. Lol. Downside, good by cruise control. I'm gonna lose, the ability to hit the brakes, to disable my cruise control. The ecu will.just see the slowing down, as me climbing a hill, or something, and actually INCREASE THROTTLE... So I will get a run away Toyota.
Lol. The irony...try to fix an issue, That makes an even bigger one for any one that cares about racing their Toyota vehicles. All because one CHP officer, cannot drive an automatic. Un-****ing-beliveable... This mod day just got a little more interesting.
Hopefully, it doesn't use the pressure switch in the ABS unit, to also monitor brake opperation for the "runaway Toyota reflash", if it does. Then I have to disable my ABS too...
/endrant. Sorry, I needed to do something, while waiting for my truck to get finished up....hahah
