The UCON should always be your first mod.

It is the basis for everything that follows.

Put it all in the comments box and make sure we have your phone number.

The import things are:

Do you have the reflash or not.

What size and what injectors are you running.

Have you removed all of your cats or not.

What other mods.

Hey Gadget, is it possible to a get a UCON tune set up for "functioning" Fuel Pressure Regulator mod? You know, vacuum line on the FPR to a boost/vacuum port.

Other question is, can you tune it your self? Like once the other features are released (Launch control), can i, myslef, go in and tweak it if i so pleased?

And, of course what are the software cost, cables, and OS requirements to run the software/

Im getting this gut feeling that my X-mas present to my truck might be a UCON....

Will the UCON help me pass emissions? I've got a bad CAT (with associated codes) and just want to plug this thing in and go. No sniff test in GA, just the OBD connection.

Great!! I have no plans to put a supercharger on my truck. Is all the accoutrement that comes with the electronic box worth the extra time to install? can I just get the box?

After doing some research, it looks like the X1 definitely required the CAM gears, but I can't find anywhere that says the UCON needs them.

To get the most out of the unit, and the potential of the truck, yes you would want to install the cam gears. Is it necessary, I would say probably not, but it may require a different, less aggressive tune.
You would definitely want to get in contact with Gadget to find out for sure though.

I'm assuming that the lack of response means CAM gears + are required to be installed when you purchase the UCON. On to a different solution then.

Sorry, I must of missed this one.

Yes, you can run the UCON without the gears and thermostat.

The calibration files we have made expect them to be there, but I can modify the file to work without them on a case by case basis.

It runs so much better with them installed. Why do not not want to run them?

I do not have the confidence to install the CAM gears myself and am looking for a plug and play type device that will take care of my CAT problems as well as provide me the opportunity to tune the truck later should I decide to add more performance modifications. I'm willing to pay for the entire UCON package. I just want the option to run it without having to install the CAM gears. I'm especially attracted to the "learning" capability and expect to gain a few MPG.

What is the UCON thermostat set at? Reason I ask is because I live in Canada and IIRC the lower thermostats had trouble defrosting windows in the winter months.

170 which gives you an engine temp of 180 or so down from 190 stock.

TRD did have a 160 for the older 5VZ V6 and you are right, that sucked for those up in the great white North. We offered the 170 in our 7th injector kits and those worked much better for you guys up there. I think you will be fine with the 170.

The 160 on my truck doesn't even see 150 on cold days....I don't know if Toespd modifications cause that, but even in cali my defroster blows.

Normally they should ship the same or next day.

The problem is that the orders are outrunning my ability to keep up with them.

The last shipment of UCONs from the first production run has arrived at URD. I need to get all of them road tested, do the final assembly, package them and then do a final load of the correct calibration file for the customer's combination. Just can't seem to keep ahead of it, sorry. Looks like I will have to work through the weekend again to get caught up.

Do you have an order in for one?
