Hi there, been looking at X-Runners for a while now, and I'm finally close to pulling the trigger on one in the next week or two.

Trading in my POS B4000 (Fine truck normally, mine's just been beat into the ground.)

Originally thought I might take the B4000 off roading, but I've found that I never do, and never will, but I love having truck like utility to carry my bicycles and racecar parts around.

The idea of having a truck that was built with an eye towards handling gives me goosebumps. I test drove one today and I loved it. I can't wait to put a proper set of brakes and tires on it and dodge some cones.

I've had toyotas in the past, and after a brief affair with Mazda, it's like coming home, and I can't wait!

I've been looking around, already thinking tires / wheels, swaybar, and adjustable shocks if I can find them.

Any other suggestions?

I'm in the same boat. However, I actually ordered mine on Thursday and am expecting to pick it up on Tuesday. I'm so excited!!!
Have you decided on the color? I went with the Nautical Blue, but you can't go wrong with any of them. They all good but the Nautical Blue Xrunner will be the most rare of all the colors being that they just started using it and 2013 will be the last year Toyota makes the X. Keep us posted.

XII performance has 18 way adjustable shocks for the rear and is working on coilovers for the front right now

I'm picking up a used one, black.

Nice.

Any idea what the range of factory adjustments are? Can I tinker with camber and caster right out of the box? I suppose I should look at the newb faq and see if there's info there about doing alignments at home...

you can adjust the front alignment yourself but it might be hard to get into spec. i'm no pro on the subject but i did a temporary alignment by eye when i dropped my last taco before i brought the truck into the shop the next day

Absolutely will do. Trying to get my post count up enough so I can show you my current ride. Hopefully will be bringing the new toy home sometime in the next week or two!

My current ride -

Ohlins, TR F1 forged wheels, Hoosier A6's, Blackwatch SS front bar, BOE QS cat back, Pagid RS 14 brakes. About as prepped for SCCA Solo Super Stock as you can be (all but the diff. And a good driver.)

It's a hoot. The X-Runner will compliment it well.

That they are, especially on slicks! I had a choice when I sold my Speed 3 to either go with a nice truck, or a beater truck and an Elise. I think I made the right decision. I've paid my dues, time for a NICE truck.

I've found the X I want, it's black, clean, appears well maintained although it needs new tires, and appears unmodified.

During the test drive I did notice the 1-2 shift was a bit tricky. I'll have to take a closer look at it after reading the posts on here about transmission issues.

During the test drive I noticed that I could feel a slight vibration in the shifter while driving, that's normal in some cars with stiff engine mounts, but seems a bit off to me in a stock truck.

Other than that, the truck felt good, it needs better pads and rubber, but the engine was a good bit stronger than my 2ZZ and the steering felt crisp (for a truck.)

Welcome! I love your combo choice of elise and x-runner. I wish I could get an elise, though I think it will be a while before I can. I go on lotustalk.com and drool over the sexy cars on there.

What year is the X? These tanny's don't like shifting that well. A coupe modified shifter and synthetic gear oil helps alot.

You'd be surprised, keep a sharp eye out and you can pick up an elise cheap. I got a steal on mine, but there are some cosmetic bits in really rough shape. Notice the complete lack of a front grille?

The X is a 2010. I just took it out to an autocross yesterday, 1st -> 2nd wasn't bad, but I wasn't drag racing so I wasn't trying to slam it into gear as fast as possible. The only complaint is the weird traction control and auto-lsd bullcrap. I was able to get it to rotate pretty easily, GREAT fun to drive.

I like having power, and might eventually s/c it, but having a truck that will handle is far more entertaining to me. If I put some good rubber and some shocks on it, this thing will be pure awesome.
