Does anyone know the size of the threads on the hex plug under our oil filter mount? My gauge is 1/8 NPT, but I'm sure the plug is NOT that size: See Murphy's Law.

Thanks.

There's a thread on here somewhere with the exact size of the adapter you need to screw into there and then screw the sender into the adapter. But I'm on my phone and can't search for it. It's a pretty big plug but I can't remember the thread size of it.

I believe its 1/2npt. I don't have the original package to confirm that but i do have a 3/8npt to 1/8npt reducer as well and its definitely smaller than the one in the picture.

The thread size at the block (under the oil filter) is 1" female NPT.

You can buy a 1" male npt reducing bushing with a 1/8" female npt.

Thanks one and all. Your timely responses, as always, are greatly appreciated. But..... One inch seems extraordinarily large, no?

If your question is for a sandwich plate then you will need a 3/4-16unf adapter. My advise is to get the greddy plate, a little extra cash but a quality product!!

No it's a pretty big plug and it takes a pretty big hex socket to take it off. I had to go buy one just for it. 1" seems about right
