So last night when I got home from work I had an antenna on my truck and well when I got to work today I was walking up to my truck and noticed this.

So one of two things happened, either A) since I bought the truck used it could have been a shitty mod and the damned thing fell off while going to work and I didn't notice or B) there's a antenna thief on the loose, But I am willing to bet it was the first one only because nothing else seems to be wrong with my truck. No popped locks and nothing else is gone. Hopefully this was a fluke and nothing to really worry about.

I agree it was too big (haha) but I dont get how it broke. I haven"t messed with it or anything and if someone was messing with it then why wouldn't they have just broken it off then? I just think it's funny that I had it last night when I got home and then today when I arrive it's gone lol

Bad. Get strong stations in clear weather. In bad weather I only get spotty reception on a strong signal. I live in a major city too

There's a few threads on here about using an s2000 antenna. That's about the only option to have a stubby antenna and still get good reception.

I just took out all the wiring for the antenna and just dropped in the cravenspeed stubby, I don't listen to anything but my iPod anyway

If I ever get the X repainted, I'll plug the hole and put the antenna will go on the roof.

I just put on a eBay bought one that is carbon fiber outside that says TRD on it for less than $20 shipped. Reception isn't bad considering where I live.

I never had an issue with my CravenSpeed stubbies. Had 2, one on my X and one on the wifey's Xterra. Service cannot be beat either. The one on my X got folded over by some nice person so I contacted Kellen and he sent me a new threaded adapter no charge. As for the S2K antennas....had one and it fell off on the road somewhere. Get a stubby!

I went with the stubby since it's purely cosmetic and I don't really have an interest in radio at the moment. I was thinking about maybe just getting a window antenna or something and just using that if I ever have the urge to listen to endless commercials lol

Going to try the window option will let you know if it's worth 19.99

If it's purely cosmetic then the stubby will be fine. Every review I've ever read though said the reception was atrocious and the s2k antenna shouldn't have just fell off lol. I had a stubby on my s10 back in the day and it looked nice but reception with that thing was pretty much non existant too

I was gonna say those window antennas can be hidden under the a pillars or a piece of trim and they still get alright reception, not great sometimes but better than most of the stubbies I've heard
