Had to add one last little detail....

Pulled the trigger on production today. Looking at around 5 weeks to get the bell housing delivered.

I should have all the rest ready to go also.

I guess I should hold out on buying a stock rebuilt trans then. Any rough estimates on kit pricing yet?

Posting to keep track of the thread and show my intrest, I know I will buy one. I have had my X runner maybe 2 weeks now and want to plan now for when the tranny goes in the future. Sad to have to think that way with a new (to me) truck but everything I have read points to not if but when it goes out.

I will be driving crappy trans until this comes out. Curious to see what all comes with the kit and what info is included. It would be nice if there were a vender to supply transmissions for this aswell. I cant wait to have a bullet proof setup to rip gears in. Did you guys know that the srt10 ram and chevy SSR pick up are the only trucks to have ever come with a t56?

Rockland Standard Gear seems to be the "vendor of choice" for a strong T56 build!

Just waiting to pay my visa down to half it's current level to order one!!

The castings were supposed to be poured this week. I have not heard how they came out yet.

Gadget T56 for your kit?

Gadget,

Have a list of most of the T56 transmissions with various gearing. Would like to pick one up if I see a good deal. Can you tell me which one you recommend? Have seem some out of low mile vehicles; of course these are not Magnums. Will your kit work with the standard version?

Thanks,

Karl

The kit was initially designed for the standard T56. I believe the cross-member is different for the Magnum version.

I recommend getting one which already has the 2.97 first gear, or having it rebuilt with that set of ratios which follow that 1st gear.

Also, basically a '98-'02 Camaro.

There is a huge thread with all different kinds of tranny info.

I recommend you go with the version I am running. It is a Magnum with gear ratios very close to the stock trans and has the tail end and shifter location of the standard T56 from the Camaro.

This way it will drop in, bolt up, and you can run your stock diff and save some money.
