Possible Clutch Issue

So on my way to work yesterday I find myself struggling to change gears near the end of my 30 mile commute. If I RPM match I can shift fairly easily but when I am stopped and want to try and switch to first or reverse or whatever, it fights me and wont let me go into gear. Its not grinding or anything its just not letting me go into gear. I drove it again today and its a little better at first when its cold but as it warms up it gets harder to change gears. What are everyones thoughts on this and has anyone experienced this before.

A couple notes, about 5000 miles ago I had the dealer put in a new URD TOB and it seems to work fine, but they did have to pull the tranny down to do it.

I also have a URD short shifter if that makes a difference.

Had the trans fluid checked and its still topped off. Was told it may be the clutch slave cyclinder (assuming we have one). I wouldn't think it was the clutch failing because I would think it would be slipping instead of the issue I have. Also, is there a coolant type system for the transmission oil, if so that may be the issue as well since it is more noticeable after driving for a bit.

Thanks for the input.

There is an adjustment on the clutch pedal.Use a 15 mm wrench to hold the top and a 12mm to loosen the nut then reach in and turn the bolt that the nut is no with your fingers a half to a full turn and push down the the clutch with your free hand and see if the free play is tighter or looser if looser go the other direction. Tighten up when done. This is the take-up adjustment and it will change the point of clutch engagement in the pedal travel. It is a finicky adjustment and will take a few tries to get it right.

Sounds to me like your clutch may not be fully disengaging

I just had that issue after I installed my new urd clutch. Did the adjustment as auto body said and it's all good now. I'd see start there especially since your trans has been dropped and work was done

So I tried adjusting that 15mm bolt and seemed like it didn't make much of a difference with the issue. Not sure if I was doing it right though, loosened up the two bolts, then turned the 15mm square bolt a couple turns. The square bolt would move easy at first then get stiff until I wrenched it over a little more, then it would kind of click get easier again. I tried four full turns in both directions and it didn't seem to make much of a difference.

While doing this I did notice I can switch gears fine with the truck off but as soon as I turn it on I cant get it into the gear again. The truck also does not drift or do anything if I have the clutch in while in gear and turned on, thus making me think it is fully disengaged.

You could try bleeding it as well, it's pretty simple so that's the next step I would take

So I was trying to look into this, where do I bleed the clutch from and what do I do about the section that is higher then the reservoir.

Are you still running stock trans fluid? Maybe try swapping it out with Redline MT-90. I had the same issue way back and this surprisingly helped. I also had my cluch adjusted, and haven't had any problems since. I'm about due for another trans fluid swap though.

You bleed it from the slave cylinder. It's on the drivers side of the trans. There's a cover that I'm not sure if you have to take off or not but if you crawl under there you will def see it.

You do not turn the 15mm nut you spin the bolt it will move with your finger tips just hold the 15mm and loosen the 12mm and then reach in and spin the bolt that the 12mm nut is on. It is a little tricky buy amazingly simple when you figure it out.
