Hopefully!! It's supposed to be hot as **** next weekend out there, and I never got my Oil cooler installed. So I'm gonna be taking a huge gamble.

What weight oil are you running right now? If you don't have time to install the cooler, the there is the possibility of a little higher weight to handle the heat. Unless you are already there. Plus, I don't know how thick an oil the LS2 pump can handle. You'd know that better than I.

That other guy in the XR. Was he never on this forum?

I stick with factory 5-30 because I already have a high volume /pressure oil pump. I've never seen pressure drop below 23psi or so @idle when very hot but I still like the peace of mind of having an oil cooler. I'm gonna bring a bug sprayer filled with water to help keep temperatures in check if needed.

For some reason the other guy isn't big in social media other than FB and IG. I think he lurks here though.:dontknow:

you should be running 5w40 or 15w50 given how hard you drive the truck and the ambient temps you see

Both of those engines have completely different tolerances. My buddy he'll run 20w50 in his runner but it burns oil like crazy. Hell , ive seen a 22r run with no oil pain and a hole in the block.

That 40 weight would sit help a great deal, if hot lapping it. Heck, a 30 weight from Redline is effectively like a 40 weight. They are in your backyard . That sprayer is also a significant help too.

i fully understand that, but you have to remember the base weight of the oil is still on 15w but acts like a 50 weight when hot giving better protection when you need it.

I'm not going get into another oil weight argument. There are a dozen or so threads on this.

What's up buddy! Haha I've been reviving threads here and there shaking the old tree see who's still round. I'm finally gonna start going for full drift mod mode. After seeing your rollercoaster of a ride I figured I have to!
