I received a letter today stating that my claim has been submitted and so and so will be dealing with my claim.
Wtf are they talking about....what claim. So after a few calls to the insurance company, I start getting some info. Apparently my old X runner that I sold to the dealership was involved in a accident.
So another few calls to the insurance company, claim guy and dealership. I now need to go to the dmv, bring proof of release of liability, then bring copy of all that info to my insurance, send another copy of all that info to the claims guy. Wtf is all this shit. I sold my X to the dealership over 7 months ago.
What an inconvenience. Why am I still dealing with this ship.
End rant

You have to do what?

If you sold it, its gone. You don't have to do anything.

Sounds like they are trying to claim on your insurance fraudulently. Just let your insurance company handle that.

The X is still in my name. I guess the dealership never did the paper work and sold it to another place, they didn't sell it, some body there took it for a joy ride and crashed into someone. Now the person they hit is trying to tag me for the cost of damage

Once you sign the title over it is theirs, not yours.

Don't do squat. Just call your insurance company and let them handle this for you.

They are attempting to commit fraud and your insurance company will handle this in an instant.

I have the release of liability in hand so I will be dropping that off at my insurance office and handing over the claim letter and let them sort it out, but my insurance is telling me I also have to go to the dmv and show them proof as well. In the mean time, this insurance guy for the guy that got hit keeps blowing up my phone basically calling me a liar about not owning the X anymore

Just give him your insurance company's phone number and tell him to never call you again.

Sounds like another reason why California just sucks.....
