Amazing. The thing is the engine is running with absolutely no load, no vehicle weight, no unsprung weight, no atmosphere heat, no mountain climbs, so is quite theoretical. Still, quite amazing.

Yup lsx is the way to go. It's just a matter of saving up. This is uncharted territory for me so I hope it's not as bad of a swap as I think it will be. Wiring scares me but I'm sure I'll find assistance on ls1tech and even from doubld and those who already did it.

As an update my truck threw code p2196 on more than 2 occasions. Truck was running rich doing part throttle especially going up hill under load. Caught some data logs and caught where the code went off too. It would read afr in the 12's. Sent it in and Scott adjusted fuel trims yesterday. Truck runs a lot better now! There's still some trouble spot areas when I captured data logs again according to Scott but no codes so far from a day of driving. Hopefully a software update will be in the works to help correct it and is Something I look forward to.

Your truck is not running rich. It is running correctly, but the stock ECU is thinking it is richer than it should be so a code was set. Just a few more lines of code......

Remembered getting a recall letter for my leaf springs and decided to check it over the weekend. I found this... :/

Passenger side cracked right through. Good thing it's not the main primary leaf. Currently trying to get thing worked out with the dealer. Said they'll replace the cracked side and will still be under recall since they'll still be using oem ones that's prone to cracking and no solution has been created by Toyota yet. but makes me wonder tho that both should be replaced since one side will end up sagging? Any thoughts? I also ordered hell wig helper springs to stiffen up the rear to prevent leaf wrap(wheel hop) and help with loads too. Plan to order sway bar too once I get this all situated with the dealer once they stop giving me the runaround.

Also picked these up over the weekend...

Decided to save the LS for another project and couldn't pass these up at such a good deal. Looks like my spare block will be built after all lol

It'll be awhile... I have to save more coin to get this done right. Will get everything blueprinted to make sure everything's good n proper. Compression is lower than stock on these 8:5:1 so boost will go up.

Let us know how they do. I've eyeballed them for a while. I've never heard any reviews of them on our trucks.

Will do bro. I've been eyeing them too but because of one of my coils failing I decided to just buy them. I actually have oem spares from my other block but it's stored away at my friends house and he's out of town.

So far I like it. First noticeable difference was how quick my truck fired up. Other than that, differences are very minimal but enough to notice it's definitely better than oems.

Just ordered the main and rod bearings for the spare motor that will be built. I originally called LCEngineering for them since it wasn't listed but they told me to order it from Jegs because it was cheaper from them. So they gave me the part numbers to order.

Here's the part numbers
CB190A - rod bearings $13.99
MS2298A - Main bearings $66.99

These are clevite parts.

Will be ordering main seal and thrust bearings from Toyota soon. Then I can start working on the bottom end.

How do you know what size bearings you need?

I showed A friend of mine who's a retired mechanic the block, what was removed and new parts I had. Looked it over and did something, wasn't really paying attention. He recommended to just get the standard size and will plastigage everything.
