Very interesting. Compression is 11.8:1!! How is anyone going to force-feed this engine without dropping the compression?!

All non-US markets still retain the single VVTi 1GR, on the completely redesigned Hiluxes and Fortuners, and the 70 series Land Cruisers.

Yup! All new 2016 HiLux, Fortuner, and 70 series land Cruiser will retain the single VVT-i 1GR.

So those who make superchargers for those motors, please don't stop ;)

HiLux:

Fortuner:

70 series:

I'm guessing since it is the replacement of the old and tired 4.5 L 1FZ, it is probably going to stay around for a very long time. the 1FZ lasted from 1991 all the way to 2010.

force feeding the new Tacoma should not be an issue with the new stand alones and hell ecu controller's it should not be hard

look at the frs or brz if there is a will there is a way because that all of toyots codeing and it's all ready been jail broken

remember it's not that hard when you don't give to flying ****s about tree's and flower on the side of the road or some kid with his inhaler

You're right, BRZ/FRS have 12.5:1 CR, and they've beeing boosting the guts out of them. I see most BRZ/FRS tuners are struggling with keeping the engine reliable while supercharged, my guess is too high CR.

Also, BRZ/FRS ECU is a Subby ECU, not a Toyota one, which is probably easier to jail break than Toyota ECUs.

it would be cool if the my TRD s/c would bolt on to the new tacoma

Don't even dream about it. It won't even bolt on to the 2nd gen. 1GR, let alone a 2GR.

i think it was entune but idk sounded bad and was too low. they told me they stopped making the jbl package because too many issues so i didnt get that package. order a trd offroad with tow package and tech package as i figured i'll put the side steps, rims, etc later for less money
