Looking for more information and if anyone has done a 4l80e swap. My 6 speed is getting worse and worse and I'm 4wd so a t56 isn't very likely. I know there are adapter plates but what about electronics etc?

With the T56 Magnum, there is an adapter for the Borg Warner AWD transfer case. www.RSgear.com makes that combo.

www.lceperformance.com has an adapter plate for the auto transmissions like the one you are asking about. DoubllD did that swap. Not exactly sure which trans he used though, but he has a build thread here.

Yeah I know LCE has them, also thinking of just going auto. Thanks for the info.

since you are a manual going to a auto should be very easy. lce adapter plate. i have a 4l80e with compushift standalone ecu and a pcs pushbutton shifter. make the crossmember and driveshaft and done. when you order the compushift he puts in all the settings based off of your car gear ratio tire size etc. 4l80e is the trans to go with can handle a ton of power

Sweet, do you think it would be easier to find a manual transfer case or electric?

Also I plan on throwing an lq9 in there eventually so that's why id like to just go with the 4l80e now instead of fixing the current trans.

You should have opened with that...lol

Just pull em both, be much easier with em both out...you won't regret it :blurock:

i did manual transfer case then took the actuator out of the factory transfer case and put it in the frame so when you throw the switch the front diff still locks an it shows on the dash its in 4 wheel drive then you just shift the transfer case and boom 4 wheel drive. i still have the transfer case and shifter if you would like to buy them.

So if I have a manual transfer case and throw in in 4h it wont actually be in 4wd unless the factor swith is in 4wd also?

Yes, assuming you keep the stock front diff. It has automatic hubs, and won't engage unless it sees 4wd command. Im sure you can wire up a simple toggle switch to control the solenoid.
