Took my '05 in to get the wheels powder coated, and the guy at the shop calls me an hour later telling me that it seems to be stuck in gear. I go back out there to check it out, and my shifter feels like its in neutral and I've got movement to the left, and into the reverse notch, but I cannot move it to the right at all. Tried driving it and it's lugging the engine pretty badly. I can get it up to speed slowly. Feels like 4th gear.

About to head back out there with a trailer to get it home.

A friend an I were gonna drop the trans and work on it during the coming week.

Would I be better off just finding a replacement trans?
Any recommendations on a rebuild kit?
Is there a better trans I could put in there that won't break the bank (sorry, no T56 in budget)

Edit: Dammit, posted this in wrong forum. Sorry

If the wheels were getting powder coated. What did he need to be in 4th gear for? This is a problem I've seen come up before but I'd be pretty pissed if I left my truck in running and driving condition and have to come pick it up with a trailer.

I'm willing to bet the shift fork is bent. If I'm not mistaken they are just made of cast aluminum. Shift forks and scyncos is all I read about on these
