Opinions on this 2011 BR X-Runner in Cincinnati?

I am considering making a comeback to X-Runner land. I found this used 2011 BR X-Runner and would like opinions from you all. First off, is this somebody's former truck on here? That would be stellar, but probably unlikely.

2011 X-Runner, 24,000 miles. Carfax is clean, no accidents. There's virtually no service history on Carfax for this truck, aside from "Exterior trim checked" and "Nitrogen filled tires". There's no Carfax proof the oil was ever changed once. It's not always a huge concern but not reassuring either.

It is being sold as Toyota Certified Pre-Owned, which is encouraging.

The price is high; $21,974 and the NADA Retail value is $21,750.

Of course one would try to negotiate down, but there's always the chance it ends at "Go find as clean a truck with as few a miles as this that's also being sold as Certified, if you want to pay less" (Hint: There aren't any out there).

I live very far away so I can't even look at it or drive it until I am semi-committed to purchasing it, if all checks out.

I previously owned a 2005 XR for 2.5 years. I know there's been varying transmission issues with these trucks, that would be my biggest concern on a used one. I would consider an extended warranty for the right price.

I'm just looking to see what your thoughts and opinions on this truck are. It's about a 970 mile trip to get to this dealership so I can't just go on a whim.

If anybody out there lives near it and can recon it for me, there's a Paypal gift in it for you.

I can't think of anyone in the immediate vicinity but I'll ask around. Also updated the thread title to bring attention to the location.

24k is EXTREMELY low mileage for any vehicle that is 6 years old.......average is probably over 70k...that's why the price is so high. With that mileage (is it a manual or automatic tranny?) I would expect the transmission to last at least 250K, more if its a 6-speed manual like my 2010.

I bought mine certified used from a Toyota dealer. It takes some of the concern out of things. If you can afford it, I would do it. It is getting harder to find good examples of these awesome trucks. On the flip side, if you find a older/cheaper one in decent shape, that frees up some cash for Mods...

All X-Runners are 6 spd

Don't think about it buy it. Toyota certs come with a 7 year 100,000 mile power train warranty and a 1 year something mileage bumper to bumper warranty. I don't remember the mileage lol. But well worth buying a certified.

And Tony works at Toyota in Maine. He'll fix anything that goes south.

He's looking for an 09 or newer. Wants the newer rear seats.

You've got great memory! Yes I prefer to go 09+ for this reason, plus just general "newer 'should' work out better in the long haul". Also I always prefer the lesser mileage for obvious reasons.

To be honest, money isn't an issue here. I was considering buying something brand new (Forester XT, Colorado, etc.) and those are all north of $30k. I also own my car so whatever I were to get in trade is straight off the top off my purchase.

Damn, yeah I almost forgot that Toyota Certified Pre Owned already comes with that 7 year/100k powertrain warranty. What's more is, according to the Carfax, it appears the original brand new date of sale was 05/01/2012, meaning 2 years left of the powertrain warranty (or 76,000 miles) which, either way, is pretty damn awesome.

So when do you pick it up? ;)

Haha one step at a time. I e-mailed the dealership just to see if it was still there, for starters. It is and I have not heard back after asking some specific questions. I will probably call them later and just ask for the Sales manager. I am also trying to find someone local who may be able to go do some recon, but so far nothing.

I am on vacation from work next week so if all panned out I could make the road trip.
