New here, wish my '14 was an X-Runner

I came too late to the party! I bought a 2014 Access cab to replace my 1988 Toyota pickup. Even though mine is not an X-Runner, I'd like to pick up a couple of the X-Runner goodies that make it special and apply those to my truck. I finally pulled the trigger, tracked down some 18" X-Runner wheels over the past few weeks, and ordered some tires Memorial Day weekend, to replace my original 15" steel rims with crappy Dunlop tires. The tires should be in now, I just have to get down to the tire store to get them mounted

Next on my list is possibly rear sway bar. I've been doing some research and will probably ask some questions here in the near future

I traded in my '88 Toyota pickup for an' 08 X Runner. I didn't know what it was at the time. It was pretty & had a V6. I didn't want a 4wd. Boy was I surprised when I figured out what an X Runner really was. There are some guys on here that have done what you are talking about. Welcome to the Underground!

sways would be a fine idea. I could be wrong but i think the X mounts on to non-X's

The X-Runner frame has additional brackets/mounting points for the x-brace.....one of the reasons they can't use a base tacoma frame on the frame swaps.

Thanks for all the welcoming comments! Does anyone have pictures of where the rear sway bar drop links attach to the frame? I've been looking at the SOS Performance rear sway bar kit which uses the X-Runner rear sway bar. When I spoke with them on the phone, they thought the '14 Access cab frames came pre-drilled for the bracket that holds the drop links, but looking under my truck I couldn't find the holes. I'm a little hesitant to start drilling holes in my frame at some point!

I think they do have the mounting point for the X frame. On the FB page Max has a base with the X brace.

Not sure if this applies to your '14.
