It varies from brand to brand. Just go to Crutchfield and put in your truck info and it'll tell you what all you need. Even if you don't buy from them at least you can get the numbers for what you need

To safely remove the HVAC panel I use two credit cards and jam them into the gap on the sides of the panel and pull it out carefully. I've seen guys tape up the exposed plastic where the panel could touch during removal to prevent scratches. Once that panel is out you'll see the screws that need to be addressed. Just take your time and all will be good.
