April 2014 : TOP RIDE Slywhitty's 2006 Radiant Red X-Runner How I Got My X-Runner It all started in May of 2007. I had a 2000 S10 Xtreme that had got broken into and all my stereo was stole. They also damaged the door getting into the truck. While it was in the body shop being repaired I was at work and drove past a Toyota dealership and there right out front was a brand new X-Runner. I had never seen one before but my family had always owned Toyotas and I knew I was in love at first sight. Stopped in and checked it out quickly knowing that I would be back later to test drive it. Finished work picked up my girlfriend and back there by 4pm. Went for a drive and knew it was exactly what I wanted so I put money down to hold the truck until I could figure out how to pay for the rest of it. Ended up calling my insurance company told them I did not want a new stereo (they were gonna replace everything) and asked for it as check instead. Used that money and traded my S10 in and drove home in it 4 days later. Then came time to search for parts for it and I found XRU and signed up. Started with the usual mods; Short shifter, intake, catback etc. Then in May 2010 it happened.... Doing some spirited donuts in an empty parking lot I blew the motor. I was devastated. I was broke and living alone now. Truck sat for over a year then a member had an almost new motor that I ended up getting for a screaming deal. Drove to New York in my moms truck picked it up and almost one year to the day my cousin and I swapped the motor and I was back. Sooooooo friggin happy!!!!! Since then the truck has been the demise of my bank account I started buying almost everything I could possibly afford even leaving myself short on cash because I couldn't pass up on deals for parts. That's about it there's more to come as I don't plan on ever getting rid of her!!!
