i've looked over my arms quite a few times, and while there is some surface rust, its nothing major, and there are no cracks in them. and im just curious. OP, did you take your fender flares off? it looks pretty good like that.

I do agree with Tony - in over 4 years of running this site, this is the first DJM failure or problem of any kind that I have seen. While it does reaffirm that we need to check ALL vital components of our vehicles (stock or not) it doesn't really make me regret my decision to go DJM.

Ok so I got the truck in the air today and took it apart. Well there is no weld around that area except for around the balljoint. I looked it over several times and have come to the conclusion that the powder coating had come off allowing the steel to start intergranual corrosion...after time it created a stress crack half way across and finally failed after more stress was put on the area. I took lots of pics they will be posted once I get a chance

Are you shipping them the broken one for assessment? What were their comments regarding the situation?

Are they replacing anything else that was damaged because of the failure, or just the control arm?

Interesting that they don't want to inspect the failed piece. I mean, as a DJM owner, I would like to know the reason for the failure (other than the obvious). As you said, if your truck had been going 70mph and flipped, what would be done then? A new part would exactly rectify the situation.

Like when my brakeperformance.com rotor exploded into pieces...they sent me new ones....:rolleyez:
That didn't solve the problem, it was just supposed to shut me up. what if it happened at 70mph, and hit someone...then what??? They didn't look into why it failed, and didn't seem to care that the cross drilled holes, went directly through the vanes....instead of between them. :stupid: They didn't want to analyze the casting or anything...

When my Compclutch IV exploded, Gadget had me send it back to CC so they can figure out why it failed, and gave me a good deal on new Spec stage IV....I guess its just the difference between a company who trys and sells quality products, and a company that just sells products....

I noticed when working with the kit the powder coat is a straight garbage job. it flakes right out of box. I would suggest redoing. For the price of the kit can't complain take the extra step and the couple hundred dollars and go get it coated or painted and cleared. Afterall it is a mod :). You guys are getting a wole kit for the price im getting rear control arms for these days lol...enjoy it and mod it...

Definitely need pics and we'll sticky this thread. I wonder if DJM will replace older kits to avoid failure? I was under my truck yesterday and looked at my arms while under there and I'm pretty sure there was not extra support on mine.
