HD Radio

Is there a plug or anything in the back of the stock HU that would allow us to use an HD receiver so that we wouldn't have to replace the whole thing?

No there isn't. If you have an HD receiver that's seperate, you can use your AUX input. I actually have one that work REQUIRES me to use, and I have it hooked to the antenna into the back of my unit. Then I listen to it through 89.1. Quality is still the same.

HD is WAAAAYYYY better quality. Put it this way, FM stations are CD quality. AM stations are in FM quality. Plus you have secondary stations on every signal. So there would be 98.5-1, 98.5-2, etc. Depends on how many broadcasts the station is putting out. Each sub station is a different genre of music usually.
