:adore: So I have been looking for a remote start kit for the X for some time now and talk to the parts dept at my old work Toyota dealership about getting a remote start kit.
He gave me one better , a full on keyless entry with push button start. Its the same compant that makes all the system for toyota, lexus, and scion.

I bought the one with the remote start. They told me its pretty much a bolt on kit since
    its a toyota. http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK104B.html

The downside to that kit is the lack of other security features. You can extend its abilities like I did with the know how. If the install shop or installer can do it is another question on its own.

Do you like it ? The Toyota dealer were I used to work is doing the install along with the remote start. I cant wait to get it back. I hate having a key . We have this on my wifes Avalon from the factory and we love it. They told me it would look and work the same. I did have to buy two toyota smart keys to have programed so that i would not have the cards.

I got rid of the cards with another method. I do like the system for the price and time I put into it. Overall it has worked well.

One thing I didn't like was forgetting about my fob in my pocket and it running through a full wash and dry cycle. Luckily it's still working.

This is a good system... but I kinda want 2-way remote more. Compustar even can locate your truck with a phone (gps system).... but you need to pay for monthly.

This is a good idea, if only it incorporated remote start and a 2-way alarm. I love my Compustar

Would have sold me if it included remote start. I love the placement of the push button in the ignition hole

Please don't cut up any keys or any of that stuff if you want to install a remote start. Get an immobilizer bypass. That is the right way to do it. It makes the truck think the key is there ONLY when it remote starts it. So your truck isn't a piece of cake to steal...

I'm pretty sure that's what you would have to use for this push button system as well
