Pioneer Avic-N3????? Help!

Someone offered me a Avic-N3 for 500 bucks with the ipod plug. Should I do it or save and get the double din? i like the double din look, but the N3 goes in and you cant tell there's a screen. This might be better since i park in the street in Brooklyn.
