Not sure why I didn't post about this sooner, but I have the absolute best girlfriend in the world! Last year for my birthday she got me the Texas Rangers Antlers t-shirt (I'm a die hard Rangers fan so this was awesome) and for Christmas she got me the complete Star Wars saga :starwars:(with a little Darth Vader USB stick, I'm a nerd if you can't tell by my trucks name). This year I did not think she could ever out do herself but she did! Knowing I wanted to put a sub in my X she got me a Rockford Fosgate P300-1 amp (she knew I had chosen that one) and for Christmas she got me the PLX Kiwi Bluetooth OBDII adapter. I'd never heard of it, but the second I read the box's description I was flipping out! I will marry this woman if it's the last thing I do, she is too amazing and thoughtful!
:urawoman:

Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else has heard of these, you can use different apps with it and I wanted to know if anyone had any favorites that work best. I've been using Torque free/light and the stuff that works is pretty cool (I've been mostly comparing my GPS speeds with the trucks speedometer lol)

Edit: wasn't sure where to post this thread, let me know if there's a better place

I haven't used that one, but my Bluetooth OBDII unit is a Gopoint BT1 and Dash Command app works good. I can even use it on my Pioneer head unit when I plug my Iphone in which is really cool because I dont have to fumble with a phone. Here is some hardware from Palmer Performance that is compatible with phones, ipads, etc. The one you listed is on there as well. I just went a different route. http://www.palmerperformance.com/hardware/index.php

Here is my thread about it with a few pics. This was before I figured out how to make it work on my headunit.

I run the wifi setup with a boost and AFR box. It is a real nice setup. I run the dashcommand app on my iPhone and have all the gauges I need. Other thing that's nice it lends itself to a real clean setup.

I'm gonna play around with this some more this weekend. What kind of data/gauges do ya'll display? My girl got it since it supports gas milage in some vehicles, but I don't think our trucks do :-(

Iphone and Pioneer have an app after you set your radio to a "wired" connection and connect it shows the display on your screen. I have played with several skins, but havent locked one down as my fav yet. I started off with appearance, then migrated to what parameters fit my needs. Alot of the designers of those skins are running turbo/SC applications so their parameters may not suit a N/A guy such as myself. Just have to look at some and see if you like em is my best suggestion.

Yeah the App Radio, some of the AVH's, and all new AVIC's (possibly more now) have this feature. Sorry I didnt specify.

You can update a lot of the older AVICs, etc to support the newer features. Just go to the AVIC forum, or which ever one you own and do a search.

I saw an OBD 2 adapter that Delphi is selling on Verizon. Does a lot of things, and it's wireless so you can check it from your computer anywhere your car is. Seems like some very very interesting technology, I'd love to get my hands on one :D

i just bought a cheapy ELM327 or whatever they're called OBDII bluetooth dongle off of ebay, works fine for me but i'm sure the PLX one is better.

I use torque as well and i love it, MPG estimates aren't the best but i have oversized injectors and i don't think there are PID's setup for all the sensors that give you the best readings. the nice thing is you can setup a offset in your vehicle profile and setup your own PID's as soon as someones figures them out in torque so that will help.

I use mine with a pioneer appradio 2 and a dedicated verizon galaxy nexus, i can control everything from the phone using a app called ARLiberator. The appradio 2 was on sale for $279 at bestbuy the last time i looked. The app only works with the appradio 2 right now but the developer is working on supporting other headunits, only android support as well and your phone has to be rooted. it uses HDMI for visual and audio output from the phone and bluetooth to simulate touch events.

one thing to note is the pioneer headunits use HDMI to mirror android phone displays, not many of their headunits have HDMI right now so be sure and check for that.
